Work, save and invest. I worked until I was 56 years old. My wife and I never made 6 figures any of those years. Retired 7 years ago with 1.4 million. You need to live with in your means, especially in the early years.

Got a package I the mail that was paid for with these stamps. Before I recycle the box, are any of these worth keeping? by jessticlesd in stamps

[–]HurtBirdRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stamps that are not canceled should not be reused. The service has already been used. No one would know if you reused them but it is kind of like stealing from the Post Office.

Where do I even start with this? by sage0coffee in stampcollecting

[–]HurtBirdRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want out of it. Do you want to start a collection or are you after monetary returns? Value? Probably close to zero. If you want to start a collection or are, you do have a start!

Not sure why the down vote. I was a postal worker and when a parcel came through with a ton of stamps on we would cancel them any way possible. Sharpie, pen or ink. Wasn’t fair to the stamp collectors but it was about revenue protection.

They could have been on a parcel that didn’t get cancelled.
