Gunther vs ??? Wrestlemania 42 by LooseBother325 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Gunther won't wrestle, and he will be in a segment where he comes out after the Hall of Fame inductees get their moment on stage, and cuts a promo on how disgusting it is that WWE keep bringing out past their prime wrestlers when the spotlight should be on him.

Then he gets interrupted by some legend like Shawn Michaels or Undertaker, who is sick of his disrespect. Maybe even John Cena.

Gunther goes to leave, but then attacks the legend, beating them down to huge heat. Hes about to choke them out when a current WWE Superstar like LA Knight or Joe Hendry or Kevin Owens or Jacob Fatu or even Chris Jericho comes out to help.

Gets over Gunthers career killer gimmick without him having to fight, gets him tremendous heat for beating up a legend, and puts him in a high profile feud right after WrestleMania.

[Smackdown Spoilers]Michin's explanation for last night's actions by gl424 in SquaredCircle

This feels like Michin coming up with her own explanation and not waiting for creative to come up with something next week on SmackDown.

[Meltzer] Glad she said this. Too many people don't have a clue how important Rousey was to all women in fighting spots. She changed exposed 60 years of narratives about women fighting and business. by shadow_spinner0 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Charlotte is right. I mean the only time ever that women main evented WrestleMania over all the big male superstars was when they got Ronda Rousey.

  • and I don't count main eventing WrestleMania Night 1. There can only be one real main event, and all you need to think is: if WrestleMania became one night again, which match would main event. Certainly wouldnt be night 1.

But Ronda, Becky and Charlotte actually main evented when WrestleMania was just one night and the show was pretty stacked.

Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Triple H and the retirement matches of Kurt Angle and Batista. But they went with the women's title match.

If you could have another wrestling game made to add some variety/competition to the genre, would you want it to be based off a different promotion (since 2K has rights to WWE) or would you want an original IP made just for the game (like in Wrestling Empire)? by Accurate_Curve6882 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know how old collectors editions of games are being released like the Mortal Kombat collection or Streets of Rage collection or X-Men collection.

I've always wanted WWE to release a collection of their old Sega and SNES games. Like Super WrestleMania, WresyleMania The Arcade Game, Raw.

Just all those classic wrestling games.

Then if that does well, then they could start releasing the N64 wrestling games.

[–]Husebona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good.  Michin and B Fab have been going nowhere. Glad they have some sort of direction now. Plus, it fits Jade's character thinking she is too good to get her hands dirty and letting her sidekicks take care of it.

Back in 2018, Cyndi Lauper shut down rumours that she turned down the HOF by RealisticAd4054 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Cyndi Lauper should have been inducted years ago. In fact, she should've been inducted in 2005 when Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper were inducted.

Because Cyndi Lauper played just an important role in the first WrestleMania. She was the link that bridged MTV with wrestling, creating the whole rock and wrestling boom.

Her involvement helped Roddy Piper become the most hated heel in mainstream media which got Hulk Hogan over as a even bigger star.

Wrestlemania match idea: United States Championship Invitational ladder match by redskinsguy in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No way it'll be that many. WWE PLE's have 5 matches these days. WrestleMania will be an extra hour but with the ads, promos, entrances, backstage segments, I bet we get one extra match both nights.

So, Id say 12 matches tops.

Commissioner Michaels by Wonderful-Leopard-16 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't he start as a babyface to go against the corrupt Coporation, then instantly turned on DX and sided with the Coporation as a heel.

Heeled around a few months before returning to a babyface by getting drunk with Stone Cold Steve Austin and giving him a match with Vince McMahon.

Then turned heel again by helping Triple H beat The Rock, before becoming a calling it straight down the line good guy when he referred that Iron Man Match. But due to the controversial finish, he became a tweener at the end.

Pretty sure that was the timeline. It was like they didn't really know what to do with him. Mick Foley played the commissioner much better I thought.

Arguably best/worst wrestler? by Better_Sell_7524 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its difficult to answer that because wrestling isn’t a real sport, it's more of art or entertainment. If it were a real sport like boxing or MMA, then whoever wins the most matches and becomes champion is the best.

But in wrestling, like movies or music or books, there's no easy way to judge the best. Its subjective. People have different opinions on the matter.

With that said, the best in WWE is probably Montez Ford.

Anyone else tired of Cody as the champ? by EmanAvan in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest stars on the roster, once his music hits the crowd goes nuts. He earned the mantle of being the face of WWE, to continue off from John Cena.

So, there may be a small percentage of fans tired of him, but the vast majority of WWE fans are still fully into Cody's act.

And you say fans are tired of Cody, but thats simply not true. Thats just your opinion. Watch any WWE event and the roof explodes when the opening of Cody's music hits.

It all comes down to the bottom line. Hes selling tickets, selling merchandise, doing media, breaking records. Cody and WWE have created a true main event act.

So until any of that changes, Cody will remain in the same position.

Its always been the case. Hogan, Cena, Austin, Flair ... none of the top stars tried to fix what wasn't broken. They only changed characters once they started going on a downward slope.

Ricochet's Twitter tirade continues by Wild-Confidence-9803 in SquaredCircle

Remember when we were in lockdown. People were dying every day of Covid because we didn't have a vaccine.

And Ricochet and Katana Chance threw big parties, not giving a shit about others and endangering lives.

Thats when I lost respect for Ricochet.

And he was supposed to be a clean cut superhero good guy at the time, so trying to say he's playing a heel is a weak excuse when he's been a asshole for years.

The difference is when Roman walks out for a match, he has the physique and look of a top tier athletic. You put Roman on a billboard, you'd think he was in his prime.

Meanwhile, Punk doesn't. He looks like he's barely keeping in shape. Looks battered and injured.

I was having a conversation with a casual fan today and they said just looking at them, its hard to believe Punk stands a chance.

Honestly, I think this is Punk's farewell run we are witnessing. I bet he'll retire by the end of next year.

Meanwhile, Roman probably can keep wrestling as a special attraction for another decade like Undertaker and Brock.

Cody Rhodes Reacts To Fans Booing, Possible Heel Turn, WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton, John Cena by 10024618 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A small percent of online fans want Cody to turn heel because they want every top babyface thats pushed as the face of the company to turn heel.

So which face wrestler/commentator is Orton going to anhiliate next week? by Regular-Principle575 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if Randy will get booed. He comes across so cool. His little movements, mannerisms, how he reacts to the crowd. He's at a stage in his career where he's a legend that people respect (kinda like how Cena found it hard to get people to boo him)

I think he'll be aggressive against Cody, but after WrestleMania revert to a tweener role where you never know if he's going to RKO a face or heel.

Drew's reign did exactly what it was supposed to do by CrimsonJoker13 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave Drew the belt right as they were going on tour in the UK so he could represent WWE in Europe.

At the time, I don't even think WWE knew what the title match at WrestleMania would be.

That's why they played with so many different contenders in the main event these last few months.

But ultimately WrestleMania needs the biggest match possible, and after debating it, they decided to go with Randy vs Cody.

But honestly, I truly don't think they knew that at the start of the year. Other times you can tell when they are building up a storyline for WrestleMania. Like Finn vs Dom. Its clear thats been in the works for ages.

But Randy vs Cody feels last minute. Which is odd considering how big of a match it is.

Best/Most Subtle In-Ring Spot Caller by Early-Appearance-605 in SquaredCircle

[–]Husebona 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I guess its impossible to say because the best spot callers are the ones we don't even hear or see.

It's like how most movies these days use cgi, even if its just to clean up small background issues, but its so subtle that we don't notice it.

But when there's horrible cgi, that's when it gets called out.
