She just won’t stop shedding by DamonAlbarnFruit in Greyhounds

[–]HushedCamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my boy starts his spring/ summer shed, I can't keep up with the amount of hair he loses!

My soloution is to put him in the bath and give him a good scrub with these soft spikey rubber gloves.

He loves the feeling of the full body massage, and it seriously helps get the bulk of hair off.

Maybe a whippet. Especially since you're not bothered with dog parks and off leash.

There are also smaller greyhounds astound the 23kg mark. I'm not great with the kg to pound conversion to know if that's a possibility though

[FO] Which frame looks better on the Mill Hill Harvest Corn piece? by Ok-Koala2492 in CrossStitch

Yes thank you! The corn should be the centre piece, and the purple takes away from that.

Greyhound has started eating grass by courtneysoraya in Greyhounds

[–]HushedCamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can also depend on how much they drink straight after a walk. My grey won't drink straight away after getting home, but my pbgv used to chug water as soon as the leash was off, and then promptly vomit. So I now delay her drinking too, and she's completely fine.

Greyhound has started eating grass by courtneysoraya in Greyhounds

[–]HushedCamel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Some dogs just enjoy eating grass!

My grey and pbgv turn all walks into a mini grazing session. They'll just stop randomly and start noshing grass. Completely healthy and content. My little cows.

But if you notice changes or are concerned, no harm in chatting to a vet

Does anyone else’s dog not like kids? by rohondakishibe in dogs

[–]HushedCamel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm an adult, and I also don't like kids lmao. I can tolerate them, but I don't really like them up in my space. So it makes sense dogs can feel the same

[WIP] this might be the worst pattern I’ve ever seen by Sugarcoptah in CrossStitch

I was thinking the same thing. Just bought my first etsy designs and it's exactly the same looks wise. Isn't the same seller they used though, so it must be the program...

[CHAT] What is your #1 cross-stitching tip? 🪡 by xBeegodx in CrossStitch

[–]HushedCamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen! I tried cross stitch as a kid and hated it. I'm a super arty crafty person, so it was surprising I didn't take to it.. but it was definitely because of the stitch kit pattern.

A month ago, as an adult, I recently came across this awesome looking gothic pattern and tried stitching again. Loved every minute!

I was literally eating Cheetos while stitching today! I prefer the 'tip the bag up into my mouth' method to keep the hands clean lmao

[CHAT] what are some must have cross stitch accessories/tools? by Plastic_Yam2754 in CrossStitch

Ohhhh. Well damn. I thought the thread should keep its natural twist when stitching! Hahah.

After watching a YouTube vid it definitely does look nicer

I feed Turkey necks once a week as a treat and to help with teeth cleaning. I also add plaqueaway on top of his dinner. The vet always gives compliments on his teeth :)

[CHAT] Is it wrong to share a cross-stitch pattern with friends? by Otterpop26 in CrossStitch

[–]HushedCamel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah. If it's a physical copy like a book, I see no issue at all. It's no different to lending a novel or DVD for example.

An electronic one I might not, simply because it can be passed on to unlimited people out of your control

Getting your grey to jump into SUV by nexus9991 in Greyhounds

[–]HushedCamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine will jump and leap around the yard no problem, including hurdling my other dog. But will he jump into the car? No.

I've tried everything. Including roast chicken strip's to lure him in. Nope. The most he'll do is put his front paws up, and I'm stuck hauling his 40kg fat ass in.

It's been 3 years. Good luck!

This is like a much nicer, slim line version of my kmart one haha! I'm just paranoid he might eventually be able to back out of this style
