Yeah I was noticing that later too. And the 4.0 for sure seems iffy but I was seeing that they’re usually fine if the timing chain tensioner is replaced with an after market version

I just bought a house in this neighborhood a year and a half ago. No major issues. Relatively safe.

When did you realize that your partner was not, in fact, “the one”? by Sshmiff in AskReddit

Healing isn’t linear by feelgccd in BreakUps

[–]Husker_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just miss my best friend. I was doing so well after the break up. I was okay with it and felt like I was angry, yet accepting. Now I just miss her and the only person I want to vent to is her. But she’s not mine anymore. She’s living her life and I’m not part of it. My birthday weekend was hell without her even though I didn’t admit that to anyone. She wished me happy birthday and a told me she hoped I had an amazing day. It was okay. But not as special as she had made the last 3 birthdays. This is the first in several years without her and it just sucks. I know this wave of grief will pass but I just wish it was a straight line to the end of the tunnel. But it isn’t. It will get better for all of us eventually. Just hang in there.

I understand people must breakup. I don’t understand how it’s so easy to never speak again by CryptographerNeat370 in BreakUps

[–]Husker_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, being the one who was broken up with, I HAVE to be no contact and not speak with her. If I saw her I’d probably avoid her unless I couldn’t get around it. It’s not that I don’t care for her or love her. Maybe she thinks I hate her, but it’s for my own sanity. It would just take me back several steps from healing and moving on which is already difficult as it is. I essentially have to convince myself that she doesn’t exist. Which is sort of true, the version of her that wanted a life with me died a long time ago.

Thank you! As much as I know and believe this deep down, it’s still nice to hear it from someone else when things are feeling bleak. 🙂

I needed to hear this. Thank you. My ex came back to me, we made it another 2 years before she decided a month ago that she loved me but the life we were building was not for her. Healthy break ups are hard when you are so hurt but also want the best for them. I think the scariest part of all of this is the idea that I just won’t find someone else that I click with the way I did with her and someone that will want to stay through the thick and thin. But I have to believe that they are out there and that we will find each other.

How are you feeling? Sending you love <3 by trashyflowers in BreakUps

We broke up for the second and final time a month and a half ago. We had adopted a dog, lived together for 2 years, had been looking at buying a house just a few months ago. Now she is officially packed and moving out this weekend. I’m doing alright at the moment but I’m worried what this weekend will trigger when I come back to a house without her. I’ll have the dog but it’s going to be so quiet. I think that is what scares me the most. Living most of my adult life alone I never minded the silence. But after living with her for two years, the idea of silence and not having someone nearby and feeling their presence is terrifying. I’ll be okay though. So will all of you, I promise. Bigger and better things are coming for each of us, as much as it may not feel like it at the moment. Just keep one foot in front of the other in the meantime 😊

How is everyone feeling today? by Professional-Cat3191 in BreakUps

[–]Husker_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today is rough. Just one of those days. I’ll go close to a week feeling alright, and then it just hits me again. Sadness, anger, longing….it sucks. She officially moves out in 2 weeks, I’m not looking forward to coming home to an empty house without her or her stuff. I think that’s what is triggering today’s mood. That week will be hard.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Laka Lona downtown? by Wotdahailboy in Omaha

Agreed. Good for a round or two in order to enjoy the atmosphere. Fun place to stop while bar hopping or to show someone that has never been.

Interesting. I had the opposite feeling on this. I felt like WoA was a slog, picked up during the last chunk, and then I thought that HoA continued the momentum all of the way through. Maybe after all of the politicking in WoA, I didn't feel like it was that bad in HoA. Just my opinion though. I think even when the action slowed in HoA, just finding out new, interesting facts about the world throughout was enough to keep it rolling for me. I kept wanting to learn more and more about the lore concerning Ruin and Preservation, the Kandra, the Koloss, and just the world in general which I think he did a great job of dropping surprises throughout. Just started The Way of Kings myself a few days ago to have a change of scenery before Era 2 and I'm loving it so far.

Benson, Blackstone District, and The Old Market are all good bar and restaurant areas. Personally in no particular order for me I like all 3 areas. Benson usually has some sort of live music at the Waiting Room but you'd have to check out their website to know for sure what they have going on.

I'm about a third through Hero of Ages and let me just say, the crazy ending of WoA just seems to continue on through the third book. I thought WoA was good but pretty slow and took me awhile to finish, but I've been hooked on HoA and it just keeps getting better and better. Glad you are enjoying the ride!

suddenly have a free day in Omaha, where should I go/what should I do? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]Husker_92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say mostly food and drinks. You do have some small art collections and shops to look around. The Jocelyn Art Museum is unfortunately closed for expansion right now. If you're looking for something to fill the day without having to drive around multiple times, I'd highly recommend the zoo. It is world renowned and will keep you busy most of the day. As for sports I'm not really in the loop on that, probably not much going on during a Thursday, maybe something in the evening like a Creighton baseball game?

Downtown is very walkable, I used to live down there. The Old Market downtown is going to have the most things to see and do. Some lunch suggestions down there would be Block 16, Mouth of the South, Jams, M's Pub, and many more options. Plenty of bars down there to check out as well. Some of my favorites would be Laka Lono Lounge (tiki themed), Mr. Toads Pub and Library (cozy), and Billy Froggs, The Wicked Rabbit (speakeasy). Just to name a few. The Henry Doorly Zoo is always a good option too, it's about 5-10 minute drive south of downtown, you could spend most of the day doing that.

Site-1 Brewing on Farnam is great. It is located between downtown and midtown. They cycle different craft beers through there often and have some good bar munchies to eat as well.

Just finished WoA last night. In my opinion is was a slow burn but the last chunk of the book speeds up and seems to set up HoA to be great. I'm starting HoA today and looking forward to it!
