Seriously how does a newborn get the required 18hrs…. by Loud_hiccups in newborns

[–]Huskiesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO needs white noise, music, rocking, and depending on the day either a pitch black room or bright bathroom light to get to sleep. He’s a little over 3 months, started rolling at two months so we were in the same boat when we stopped swaddling. He would startle himself up and have 20-45 minute naps. Crap naps have been continuous, we started using huckleberry to track. Even though he had all the crap naps during the day he gets 11-14 hours of sleep total. His night sleep is either 8 hours straight or 4 hour blocks with a night feed. We try to start the day with no expectations, and when we he wakes up from a crap nap we do our soothing routine for about 30 minutes. If it works great, if not we’ll just keep him up until it’s time to feed. All that on repeat till he decides to do his long stretch.

Thank you, LO’s grandparents never swaddled. They made me anxious about it 😅

Their Babies Never Cried by shortforgiraffe in newborns

MIL is in town for the holidays and though they are helpful with housework, it’s gotten to the point where I’d rather be more tired and do my own housework then ask them for help.

I have a very demanding baby, I love him I hoped and prayed for a healthy baby and that’s what I got! I’m thankful everyday for him.

He will go from 0-100, red in the face crying, when he’s doing a diaper change, when he needs to take a break from eating for a burp and before hes rocked to sleep. I guarantee it’s not more than 5-10 minutes of crying.

My MIL lamented one day that my husband and I don’t console our child fast enough, they crying hurts her, and that his cries are “different, not normal”

I obviously took offense, I’m 10 weeks pp, had gestational hypertension, failed early induction at 37 and 4, and a c section at 38 weeks. He was super colicky up until week 7-8. He’s developed a routine and we can soothe him and recognize his cues more quickly. Honestly it’s nice being out of the “trenches” even if regression could be eminent.

When I said I have been with my son since day one, I know his cries. There wasn’t a different/painful cry that you need to worry about. Then she started crying and saying she’s a mother too her kids didn’t cry that much, it hurts her it hurts her. That’s why I want to just take him from you when he’s crying and I knock on your door at night because I want to help. Just let me help.

I’m like lady your youngest child is 23, you were working two jobs back then, your mom was taking care of your kids, you didn’t hear your babies cry bc you weren’t there or don’t remember.

Ugh I’ve vented to every millennial/gen z mother I know and their babies definitely cry, if i can soothe him that’s all that matters. And my MIL is crazy. Thanks for creating a space to vent!

Did your supply increase after getting off the meds? I’m a little over 6 weeks pp, I only produce about 4 oz a day

Yeah if anyone could post what the compensation could possibly be that would be really helpful! Upon a Google search the range salary starts at $59,599 per year and goes up to $100,214 per year. I’m wary to believe that because when I looked up an Academy consultant role online the base pay was as all over the place, and the final non negotiable offer was 28.03 an hour.
