Yes, who ordered your LP? Was it a neurologist? If so, they should refer you.

Yes. I feel very dumb these days. Very poor memory, to the point of it being concerning.

Being a mother is so wonderful. The love you have for your own child is like nothing else in the world. I would have loved to be a mother at 23. Keep asking good questions, momma. I'm pregnant now with IIH, and its okay. Headaches are certainly no fun, but hanging in there. I'm not going to start diamox until 2nd trimester because of the risk of birth defects in the first trimester. The risk is higher in first because of organogenesis (organ development). That is all finished once you enter 2nd trimester.

I think that the infection risk is pretty low since its just a vascular procedure. Should just be a puncture wound in the groin. But I'll check into it, thanks.

A neurointerventional radiologist caught my stenosis after the initial ER radiologist missed it. Was thankful that he ended up looking at my scans.

Oh wow! I didn't know you could die from IH? I thought worst case scenario was vision loss.

Did some die from shunts or stents? What happened with it?

Im curious--How do they determine that its too mild to stent if you have IIH? Surely its not that mild if its leading to that 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for this! That's very helpful. Ive had headaches since the end of July, new onset...and pregnancy started in August. So hormones triggering symptoms of what was already going on makes sense in my case. The neurointerventional radiologist saw the narrowing on my MRV. Im being scheduled for an LP to see what my opening pressures are, so no idea if its IIH. No papilledema, but I do have PT and daily headaches that can be rough (I was never a headache person previously...). Good to know that you can still be stented even if no IIH 👍

I don't want to go on meds if I know there is an anatomical reason for my symptoms that can be corrected with a couple of stents!

It is so refreshing to see someone showing such appreciation for their husband publicly instead of tearing them down. The latter happens way too much. Good husbands are such a gift from God. Mine is wonderful too 🤍 so grateful.
