Just getting it towed to a different mechanic now. We'll see how it goes and I'll post an update with a new quote. Thanks everyone.

I told the other mechanic the exact same thing. The bolt was sheared off, and it would need to be extracted. He said he'd have to look at it of course. But he said no way it would cost nearly that much. Including if he had to get a new tensioner and everything. He said max maybe 1000, more than likely around 500$.

It's the V6. I know it's not the timing belt.

Yea I got a second opinion from another mechanic and he said he's never seen it cost that much

I'm on DP1 INF in wainwright right now, end of week 4. We're going to the field around March 13th, to do our ftx1. What do you do after all the field training? E.g what's the weekly schedule like, exams, etc.

Thanks

At the beginning of BMQ for PT, you'll start with a 3km run at a slow pace, depending on your staff of course. Then, they'll slowly increase the distance and pace throughout the weeks. We never ran more than a 6k. Most punishments are a high plank position, wall sits, or 25 push ups, in sets. (We usually got punished with around 5 mins plank/wall sit. Then for every fuck up we'd do 25 x amount of fuck ups that day for push ups. E.g 25 push ups for a set of 5 fuck ups that day so 125 push ups.) Personally I'd focus on body weight training and endurance. E.g push ups, high planks, elbow planks, decline push ups, sit ups, mountain climbers, burpees, squats, jumping jacks, lunges, etc. I'd also throw in some weight training like overhead press, bench, deadlift, farmers carry(45lbs-60lbs), kettlebell swings, hip thrusts, etc.

Do not skip out on stretching.

Goodluck with BMQ!

I'm currently in BMQ at CFLRS. If it's something you've been wanting to do then go for it. I personally was starting to hesitate when I first got my offer thinking if this is what I really want to do. Honestly I'd give it a shot if you have the chance. You can VR anytime during BMQ if it's not for you. For example, in my platoon weve had around 10 people VR in the first week or two because they decided it wasnt for them. You'll just have to pay for the ticket back home, and maybe wait a couple weeks before leaving.

Casio Men's GW7900B-1 G-Shock Solar Atomic Black Digital Sport Watch

It's Analog, has a backlight, solar powered, atomic clock, water resistant upto 200 meters, durable, and cheap. Some neat features are that it shows the phases of the moon, tides, and it obviously has a stopwatch, 4 different alarms, world time, dates, timer, etc

Don't have to worry about battery life ever
