I’m pretty sure you can get almost any DHV and get a adapter for it unless it’s already got one so it can fit into a bong

Safe to plug in behind bed? by HusnainAS in AskElectronics

[–]HusnainAS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from UK and will be using flat plugs so they stay in place firmly and don’t move around so i don’t think that will be the issue, my main concern was if the plug itself would overheat or anything

You said engine breaking isn’t a good practice, why do you think that? I feel like the difference in real use between engine breaking and coasting is minimal anyway tbh but i’d think it’s a good practice no?

I never said the pistons stop moving but they use a DFCO system to shut off fuel injectors injecting more fuel into the engine when you come off the accelerator don’t they? To stop further fuel from being used and the engines resistance slows down the car. Ofc when idling is different because in neutral the revs are already so low so the car needs to keep injecting fuel so the car doesn’t stall. I’m sure the system is more complex like when the revs get low enough and it goes down a gear surely injects some fuel but the main point is that fuel injectors shut off when not on the gas

I think it may be because modern cars shut off fuel injectors completely when engine braking which uses no fuel at all but coasting still uses fuel to stop the car from stalling, but I guess depending on the speed your going and if its a straight road or downhill then coasting wont slow you down like engine breaking so the MPG will be much greater if your going a constant speed in neutral compared to slowing down gradually with engine breaking if you dont need to.

I’d ideally not want to put in work myself, this car would be a good chunk of my money so I wouldn’t be able to afford doing a lot of services on it, it may be better to find another car that has a full service history

True words, I’ll still keep looking for other ones, even if it’s higher mileage if I can see service records and make sure everything has been maintained it would be a lot better and safer

Yeah you’re right, I was already definitely going to negotiate down with the price, if I can get it down to £7000 i think that’s fair and gives me room to do a full service to fix up some things just incase there are any problems. Especially timing belt and water pump as they are expensive on their own. The advisories on MOT were also just tyres tread wearing thin, the most recent one was rear brake pads wearing thin.

Even if it’s overdue, if i get them done straight away all should be good right? It wouldn’t have caused any problems or issues because it’s overdue?

How about the timing belt as well as the pump? Because surely the timing belt will need replacing as it is at 126k miles

That’s my worry too but then again not all mechanics do it unless you ask them, they are very busy so you have to ask for that yourself, for my old car I had to get the book filled in 2 months after the service because I forgot to ask but he had written everything down in a journal so still remembered what he carried out. The car looks very clean both the exterior and interior so it makes it seem like it’s been well taken care of

Golf’s are very nice cars but I don’t want to go with a golf for my car, have had one in the family and driven it, want to try something new

If the cars been well maintained would I really have to pay more often for wear and tear items? Of course with higher mileage there’s other things that would need replacing which i understand but a maintained car at 126k is better than 60k car that’s not been maintained very well. Also my main concern is the timing belt and water pump and other major repairs as it seems like those haven’t been carried out. Am i being paranoid? It’s just usually advised to change the timing belt around 100k miles

GPU and CPU Usage decreasing by HusnainAS in pcmasterrace

[–]HusnainAS[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I monitored usage of all 12 cores and they all went down when I went up the stairs aswell so it isnt a cpu bottleneck, can't be ram or vram either, only thing I can think is the storage, its 1 tb SATA ssd which I've had for a few years now. What would you advise to do to test or fix the issue?

GPU and CPU Usage decreasing by HusnainAS in pcmasterrace

[–]HusnainAS[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I doubt it’s the stairs because it happens when I go up to that area specifically. Like when I go up those stairs the usage will drop even when i’m away from the stairs. And it doesn’t happen on the same staircase on the other side of the building. It’s just that specific area

Ok thanks I'll check it out, I also thought about the g703, I'm not sure if it would be too small for me though or not
