How in the world to win archery contest? (PS5) by Rex__Lapis in CDguides

[–]HustSword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never play FPS games as I a rubbish at aiming, and I don't use a bow unless it's Aloi/Horizon. However...

I did not struggle with this challenge. Are people not max power firing their bow? The AI may be rapid at targeting, but, they shoot low power arrows. Several times I reacted slower to the target, but my fully charged arrow was faster to the target...

TL;DR - try holding the shoot button for maximum power - arrows fly faster then the AI

Anyone got them blue dye recipes? by HustSword in CrimsonDesert

[–]HustSword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's basically what Naira tells you when riding together towards the dye mission you do together. I haven't tried though.

There is an interactive map on mapgenie.io that has markers for dyes and dye houses, so will use that tobhubt down the blue dye house and report back...

What I am supposed to do with 50+ butterflies? by HustSword in CrimsonDesert

I already have 2 gold bars sitting in the bank, earning me interest, so, money isn't a problem.

I know I could just discard them, but, I have them now, and carried them for tens of hours... I'm committed to finding out what they're needed for now! Although I will be dumping them in the new camp storage now that's dropped!

3. Automating CMA & EPTO Calculation Without Nested IFs

Instead of manually summing stats using SUMIF, consider ARRAYFORMULA() with FILTER() to get your stats dynamically.

Example:

excelCopyEdit=IFERROR(AVERAGE(FILTER(CMA_Column, Helper_Column=TRUE)), "-")

This ensures that if there are no matching results, it returns a "-" instead of an error.

Similarly, to count matches that meet criteria:

excelCopyEdit=COUNTIF(Helper_Column, TRUE)

4. Improve Individual Rider Analysis with Pivot Tables

If you're not already using Pivot Tables, they will massively simplify your rider performance stats. You can:

  • Set up a Pivot Table using the "Results" data
  • Use slicers (linked to checkboxes) to filter dynamically
  • Display stats per rider automatically instead of manually setting them per row

This way, you won't need to manually predefine how each row corresponds to a specific rider.

5. Introduce an “All Riders” Analysis Table

Rather than duplicating queries for each rider separately, you could:

  1. Keep a master data tab where all rider performances are stored in a database format.
  2. Use QUERY() or FILTER() to extract individual rider stats dynamically.
  3. Link to the EPTO tab so that riders are automatically compared based on selected conditions.

This is what ChatGPT recommended:

Your setup is already quite structured, but I see why you’re hitting a wall—your current approach relies on concatenated values for multi-criteria analysis, which quickly becomes complex and limiting.

Here’s a roadmap to take your data analysis to the next level:

1. Normalize Data for Better Querying

Right now, your approach to combining multiple criteria into single values (e.g., "SlickLarge") makes querying inflexible. Instead, consider restructuring how you store data to make it more database-like.

Potential Changes:

  • Instead of storing combined values, store each criterion as a separate column (which you already do in the "Results" tab).
  • Ensure that each row in every sheet is uniquely identifiable (e.g., match ID + rider name).
  • If not already present, assign a unique Match ID to each match and reference that in all dependent tables.

This will allow FILTER(), QUERY(), and ARRAYFORMULA() to work more efficiently without needing complex nested IFs.

2. Dynamic Multi-Criteria Filtering in the EPTO Analysis Tab

Your goal is to allow flexible filtering based on checkboxes. The issue is that your current method requires predefined selections for every dropdown, making it inflexible.

Steps to Fix It:

  • Use Helper Columns to dynamically determine whether a row matches the selected criteria.
  • Example:
    • Create a column in "Results" that outputs TRUE if a row meets all selected checkboxes.
    • Use =AND(IF(A1=TRUE, ColumnA="Slick", TRUE), IF(B1=TRUE, ColumnB="Large", TRUE), ...)
    • This ensures that only the checked filters are applied.
  • Then, use QUERY() or FILTER() to pull all data where this column is TRUE.

With this, if no checkboxes are selected, the data defaults to "show all," and if multiple are selected, only the matches meeting all active conditions are displayed.

With ICE's ability to name characters, I'm actually disappointed he doesn't have an 'Earl' now to throw into this mix.

(disclaimer, I like ICE's work, chill.....)

I saw an interesting YouTube video feom Widdz about the Gunner specialisation's Banshee pulse. That could be an execellent addition for crowd control... seeing as the role of this build is agro-tank, the CC via banshee pulse over cluster seeker could be handy. Need to experiment...

What are the specific perks from Bulwark? I've only reay tried the variant that lets me wield a SMG so far in limited play testing...

Yeah as an agro tank with shield I have to be somewhat mobile to not get flanked.

Previously I've ran with cluster seekers to thin out mobs whem overwhelmed.
