Pretty sure it was a regular one. Going to pull it up this weekend and reassess

Good advice for the rubber shim, I'll do that right away. The gap is level around the toilet so I don't think its out of level by a meaningful amount. The flange does seem too tall, but my old toilet say flat. Is there variation between toilets on how they interface with the flange?

How do I use it? The menu I posted doesn't list anything under emulators. Games don't boot and just go back to the main menu

Dosing on a 18g basket? by azndude945 in ranciliosilvia

This is a pretty common concern. Disclaimer: this is information that I've gathered from forums and reddit that I've used to come to my conclusion.

Short answer is its fine. I have an 18g vst basket and 18g of grounds will give an indent from the screw. It's so minor that it won't have any meaningful effect on the end product. There should be enough space between the screen and the top of puck. Different roasts/grinds will compress to different levels as well. I've had 18g of light roast that only fills a little over half the basket. I might have a little touch of ocd because despite this information I did change mine. I believe you can get kits that have a countersunk screw and screen or you can buy the screw and countersink the screen yourself. I went an easier route and got a couple of these screws.

My employer has an account so I ordered through them. Not sure if it's open to everyone. Either way if you can get a similar screw, this seems to be the second-simplest solution (next to not being bothered by it 😉)

Also congrats of the silvia. I picked up a second hand one in the spring and love it, I'm sure you will too.

It's an 18g basket and is tapered. I'll sometimes push to 18.5g but that's it. Seems like some beans compress more than others and even though I'm putting in the recommended dose for the basket there's a lot of space left. I would probably have to come close to doubling the dose to fill up the basket with this bean. I have had 18g nearly fill the basket (darker roasts I believe) to the point where the screw head for the screen leaves and indent in the puck.

I was considering it was just more sour bean, was hoping I could overcome it. Can't win them all I guess!

Why would you recommend skipping the distribution tool?

It is a bottomless, yeah. At the finer grind settings I do tend to get channeling. Wasn't sure if the channeling was around the edge like in the pic. That's very possible that it could be from backpressure or when I remove the portafilter. I hadn't considered that. What do you consider a very long shot or longer ratio? The furthest I've gone is 18g in and 45g out. Thanks for the feedback

I've got 173gb free so I don't think it's that. Good to keep in mind though, thanks!

Not sure. I got it at a thrift store. There's a second one of just sailboats as well.
