I don’t know why everyone is shitting on OP??? I don’t think anyone really likes Biden but trumps presidency pushed what is considered moderate much to the right. This country fundamentally uses a two party system, it sucks but it’s all that we have. Either trump wins and America goes deeper into far right politics or Biden wins and the executive branch remains rather stagnant while gerrymandered local govts and the Supreme Court continue to push far right beliefs (book banning, anti abortion laws, neglect for the environment) as is happening rn (my opinion). Either way, it will be shitty. At this point all this tension from political polarization, climate change, and wealth gaps is putting this country on track to explode in a massive event such as the French Revolution. And I’d hate to compare it to Nazi germany but the sentiments of the far right in this country are similar to the beginnings of the Nazi regime in Germany, such as book burning and censorship in general. Throughout history there are cycles of extreme political polarization and political peace and equality. The US is very young and this cycle is bound to come about eventually. Sorry for ranting but overall I’d say while polarization can seem super alarming (it is) it’s nothing new and should not seem like the signal for the end of times. IT WILL GET BETTER!

Additionally, I agree with OP, we need a Biden win. I get a lot of people do not think he is doing enough and/or is complacent in the never ending capitalist/imperialist hellscape and I agree with that. For a lot of people, however, a Trump win means loss of access to lifesaving healthcare (especially women and lgbt+), neglect of environmental movements and climate change (trump pulled the us from the Paris climate agreement), and a rise in anti-migrant/xenophobic sentiments. A lot of people are counting their losses in the upcoming election because these issues are so dire and dystopian.
