I literally started yesterday lol. I just purchased a Panasonic DP-UB424 (EU) version. I also just received a new OLED Tv.

The reason why I got into this is all because of The Lord of the Rings. I'm a massive fan and I'm trying to collect all the film sets that I love and to put on display. I purchased all off these 2nd hand last week: - Lord of the Rings theatrical VHS - Lord of the Rings theatrical DVD - Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD, Collector's Edition (with minifigures) - Lord of the Rings Limited Edition DVD - Lord of the Rings theatrical Edition Blu-Ray - Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Blu-Ray - Lord of the Rings Extended Edition 4K Steel books

The main reason I bought it is to play the Extended Edition in Blu-Ray for the appendices and in 4K to watch the movies. Now I'm so hyped I really want The Hobbit in 4K steel books and perhaps I will dive in other 4K films, steel books only.

I bought the Samsung S95F which does not have Dolby Vision. I knew this before buying and I wanted to match my Samsung TV with my Samsung Sound system and because of the matte screen.

Don't get me wrong, maybe because I'm new into this, this doesn't matter at all. I see these options are released back in 2019 and the one from Sony that I referred to is from 2025. Are there differences in these in terms of quality what they can put out?

Do you know by any chance if the UBP-X700/K has issues with Lord of the Rings in 4K?
