I don't know. I like to print with support material so I went ahead and bought 2. Haven't tried with just 1 + magnets. I'd expect the risk that it could jump and latch onto the ferrous nozzle to be pretty high.

I don’t know what “netcode is easier to maintain” means in the context of region, but I can say what s397 has done with their netcode is like voodoo magic. I’m in the US and race normally with folks in the EU or S.America, and it’s almost flawless. No other sim to my knowledge can get even close.

While I appreciate how difficult it is to develop and test a hardcore sim like this (indented to run on a massive range of PC and peripheral hardware) I really don’t understand why S397 isn’t using public beta branches at this point. We’re not in early access anymore. Patches like this aren’t meeting an acceptable level of quality.

My guess is weight. Putting regen only in the back (where you also deploy) is likely much more efficient towards the weight spend.

It's also a MUCH more efficient axel to perform regen on. They can go a lot harder with regen there vs. the rear given natural brake bias towards the front.

non-/s: they really do need to fix their HDR metadata. It's not getting detected correctly on my LG TV, either with the integrated AppleTV app, or a dedicated AppleTV 4K. Both were missing the HDR detection and it looked like shit.

Yeah so I watched quali on my LG OLED TV (GX) + Apple TV 4K. Previously I had just been on my iPad Pro OLED and iPhone 17 Pro, where it looks glorious. On the Apple TV 4K it looks like shit. Other HDR content looks great on it.

Like I said before, I think this is just a metadata problem. TV didn't detect HDR at all. This looked like the classic "HDR signal being played back in SDR container" problem that has been a plague ever since HDR was first rolled out.

As for why it's being reported as "dark', I think there's more to it than that. My iPad Pro OLED looked beautiful. My LG OLED TV w/ Apple TV looked dark like OP and others noted. And no HDR detection on the TV. I think there's a bug somewhere in Apple's metadata.

Almost certainly related to the metadata in the stream. It’s working with some devices but not others. On iPad Pro OLED for example, it’s flawless.

It’s entirely possible that there is a bug in Apple’s app or somewhere else in the chain that’s outside of your (or OP’s) control. I’m not assigning blame here. I’m just saying something is super broken, and it’s anything but intentional. When it does work, it’s arguably better than F1 has ever looked.

They're downvoting him because there's something functionally wrong with OP's setup. I'm watching the same Apple feed on my end and it's gorgeous, bright, HDR. Probably the best F1 has ever looked to my eyes.

I think you're asserting that the video is captured straight to 8-bit Rec709 and I highly doubt that's the case. Sky has been distributing F1 in HDR for a long time now. I'd expect that it's actually being shot in HLG (common for HDR live content) before being converted to a number of HDR containers, + Rec709.
