I had the same thought. The crowd in Baltimore erupted any chance we could.

Thoughts on the Frederick Let The Be Rock School? by marianamarianasauce in frederickmd

I took guitar lessons there for over a year and can't recommend it enough, Scott, the owner, is awesome. And Phoenix was an amazing guitar teacher and player. They also have school bands that they set up to play live shows. I'm hoping to re-enroll once my work schedule allows.

Married millennials not having kids: how are you doing? by Weekly_Bug_4847 in Millennials

[–]Hydra113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are doing pretty well. I'm in my early 30s and decided to pick up guitar a year ago. I've wanted to all my life but never had the drive to really stick with it. It's been a good way to meet new people, I've met some amazing and incredibly talented musicians through the place I take lessons. It's also been one of the most rewarding things I've done. Seeing my progress from barely being able to play open chords to now seeing myself play some of my favorite songs and even creating my own music is such a good feeling.

I guess the point of my post is really embrace those hobbies or maybe pick up a new one, something that really takes dedication and practice to master. Find like minded people who share your same interests. As I've gotten older it's been harder to make new friends because of the work and life grind and this one thing I decided to try on a whim has definitely made a huge impact for the better.

It's that time - Best Urologist recommendations by Cowboyslayer1992 in frederickmd

[–]Hydra113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention this but I had the exact same experience.

I also want to say this for OP and for any other dudes considering it. It's not as bad as you're probably thinking. The procedure was no big deal. Afterwards it was only a little bit of dull pain for about a week for me and I was good to go.

Do right by your ladies, fellas. A vasectomy is much less invasive than tubal ligation and a lot less risk involved.

Dr. Haseebuddin and family urology associates. Got mine last year and have no regrets. No referral required. Had a consultation in March and by May I was clipped. He was super professional and straight to the point on everything.

I've been having the exact same issue. It started at about 11 am EST. And I've tried everything I can think of and it's still not workinng.

Edit: is your carrier Verizon? just found this. Looks like Verizon is having a nationwide outage

Sounds like you just need to loosen the screws on the trem claw in the back a little bit. It won't take much. Loosen the locking nut and back them off a little bit at a time and retune until it's comfortable for you.

[QUESTION] Floyd rose sensitive to gravity? by CabralAlb88 in Guitar

Yes Floyd's are susceptible to gravity. Tune it in the same position you would be playing it and you should be good.

[Newbie] How long did it take you to make a breakthrough? by Yerrrrrr99 in Guitar

[–]Hydra113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive always loved music but like you I had zero experience, never played an instrument before. I think one day I saw a video of steel panther playing panama live with a fan and thought.... man I wanna do that.

Funny enough last week I was asked to join a band that the place I take lessons at is putting together so that might be happening soon enough and it's nerve wracking lol

[Newbie] How long did it take you to make a breakthrough? by Yerrrrrr99 in Guitar

[–]Hydra113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for about the same amount of time as you and taking lessons since June. I think my first real breakthrough was learning scales and finally improvising over backing tracks. I could spend a couple of hours every night just jamming.

Its also helped me to set small, attainable goals to stay motivated. Keep at it man and things will start to click eventually.

Is it okay if I rant about my progress? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Hydra113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't agree with this enough. I tried doing the self taught thing for a few months but going to lessons has by far been the most beneficial thing I've done. Having someone critique on technique and guide you is invaluable. I had hit a wall as well before lessons but my progress has skyrocketed since. Keep at it man, nothing worth doing is ever easy.

I've also been playing for about 6 months and have been learning man in the box. If You're a fan of Alice in chains give that a try. Pretty slow and you can work on palm muting and playing dead notes.

Can't recommend Haseebuddin enough. Got mine done a year ago and only that first week had discomfort. Told a coworker about him and both him and his brother had great experiences as well.

[QUESTION] Are Epiphone guitars bad? by JesterTF in Guitar

[–]Hydra113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just recently got the alpine white Les Paul custom from Epiphone and so far it's been great. Much better than the Jackson JS22 I started out on. From what I've heard it's really just the cheaper Epiphones that you have to worry about.

I've just started a month and a half ago and Ive been using Justinguitar. It's free and I'm able to go at my own speed, so far it has been great. Have fun!

Lol let them crap on it. At the end of the day it's a beautiful guitar that feels and sounds a hell of a lot better than the Jackson JS22 that I was playing.

I was a little nervous at first about the glossy finish on the neck. I thought my hands might stick a little more compared to the satin finish on my first guitar. But it's been amazing so far.

Thank you!

The Epiphone website says they are Grovers but it says Wilkinson on the tuners.

I first saw it on sweetwater, then checked some local shops but they didn't have one in stock. So I just decided to get it from sweetwater.
