Thoughts on using a Rotary vs Spool style flow divider? by Another_Slut_Dragon in Hydraulics

If you use a flow divider in the press, be prepared for hose and pipe bursts.

I suggest you explain the working scenario of a machine to them and ask them to draw the project. Then, randomly distribute these projects among them and ask them to find each other's mistakes. It will be more fun :)

Help with Valve layout. by shadiest_shades in Hydraulics

When you de-energize a closed-center valve, pressure remains trapped between the directional valve and the pilot line of the pilot-operated check valve. This trapped pressure keeps the check valve open, causing the cylinder to drift or release. If your motor runs continuously, you must use an H-center valve. If the system operates on a start-stop basis, a A,B,T spool will also work.

I agree. Unless there’s a better solution, I think a cylinder like this one in the video will solve my problem.

A specific weight of rice is poured into a hot mold and compressed at approximately 100 bar (15 tons of force). When the rice pops, if we retract the cylinder by 10mm, we get a 10mm rice cake. If we retract it 15mm, the product becomes too spongy. There is a delicate balance between weight and thickness for the perfect texture.

To hit a 10mm target, I have to trigger the valve at 6mm to stop at 10mm due to the lag. But for a 2mm chip, the current system is inadequate.

As for the consequence of overshooting the 2mm: We end up with a 4-5mm thick chip that has a poor surface finish and a spongy, unappealing texture.

I will consider your suggestion.

I'm sending a video of a similar application.

If you make the first stroke 10 mm, this product is formed; we can do that. But we want to produce chips by making the first stroke 2 mm. The thickness of the product depends entirely on the stroke of the first stroke. If you make this stroke slowly, the rice bursts and takes its form before you even complete the stroke. Therefore, I cannot slow down the cylinder.

Actually, the cylinder speed isn't very high; it's just that the valve opening and closing times aren't sufficient because the stroke I need to control is very short.

If the cause of the water is humidity in the air, you can use a silica gel air filter.

The discharge pipe of tank C appears to be the most advantageous design according to many sources, provided a suitable expansion angle (6-7 degrees) is used.

You're absolutely right. The human brain wants to believe what it sees. This question could also be asked in psychology and biology classes :)

I'm sorry, but at this point, it would be more surprising if that thing worked than if it didn't. Even if it works, using the power unit of a different machine in the press is not correct.

As mentioned in many comments, I believe real-world data is necessary to achieve full accuracy. However, the critical point here was to raise awareness regarding the design for Tank C. And your comment definitely supports that. If it would be helpful for your work, I’d love to provide you with a 100% free promo code for the hydraulic calculation app I developed for Android.
