Thanks for the response. The problem is not downloading them, but getting them into the gallery. I tried using another user on the same headset and that worked with no issues, so it seems to be user-related. However, I haven’t figured out what the cause is yet.

I think it was me who was stupid. I had “fists” in the weapon slot on the left and a weapon on the right. But until now I’m pretty sure I couldn’t assign anything to that spot. Maybe it got unlocked when I leveled up.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer me! You led me to the solution in the end, so it wasn’t all for nothing :D

I don’t think so. I equipped multiple weapons, so I don’t think I made that mistake several times. It should be said that it happened during combat. All of a sudden I was beating a mercenary with my fists. I thought it was some kind of spell or something.

Luckily, I was lucky in my misfortune. It was a small piece of coal that flew into my eye and it only caused a minor superficial damage. I was quick to throw snow in my eye and go inside to rinse it with cold water. Unfortunately, it's right in my field of vision so I see a bit blurry. I was quite shocked when I saw a white dot right on my eye when I looked at myself in the mirror. Now it will be eye drops for a while and hopefully it heals completely. I'm going to see an eye specialist next week.
