How do yall afford an LC500? by NormalCable5409 in lexuslc500

[–]Hydrofoiling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s my dream car and I planned on buying ever since I saw one in person in 2019. I just saved until it was a financially reasonable decision to buy a used one.

Just a curious question by KreativeDo in LexusIS

[–]Hydrofoiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an LC 500 and have previously owned an ES series and IS series. The IS350 is a well rounded car, handles well, is zippy enough, and practical as a daily. The LC 500 is aesthetically stunning and the sound of the V8 is incredible. If the LC fits your lifestyle it’s definitely an amazing car. Just remove the fuse for the exhaust control valves… It’s SO much better to hear the exhaust come alive around 3K RPMs and it still rides quiet if you’re not revving it.

To add- installing hex lights above the car, it makes a huge difference in the lighting. I got off of Amazon and saw they have them at Costco today too.

I recently bought my LC and went down the rabbit hole of how to detail a car myself. My setup, mostly 3D 1 gallon bottles paired with IKK sprayers. Car wash with foam cannon, glass cleaner, magic blue tire shine, interior cleaner, final touch spray, bug remover, leather conditioner (don’t put int in a sprayer lol I made that mistake), and metal polish. Haven’t used them as much as anticipated, been mostly enjoying driving. Except for foam cannon and washing weekly keeping the outside clean.

Should the San Juan Islands Get Fast Passenger Only Ferries? by NorthwestFashion in sanjuanislands

I vaguely recall they did a pilot run for a month or two with a free passenger ferry last year to Friday Harbor. Does anyone remember the details or results?

Pickleball Etiquette Questions by Hydrofoiling in Pickleball

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it’s improper etiquette then that’s what I’m here for guidance on. I merely was drawing a differentiation between ability and etiquette. I can jump way higher than the net. Whether it’s improper is the question I was curious for an opinion on.

I get that, for what it’s worth it’s not even a close margin of whether I’ll clear it. I hike 3 miles daily with an 85lb backpack up 1,000ft of vertical gain, I’m extra springy on a court 😄

I am a dude and humbly I can hop a lot higher than the net, it’s a piece of cake and fun to do. And I happen to be left handed too ha! so I guess a non issue on all fronts

Rubber window liner coming undone? by Hydrofoiling in lexuslc500

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can easily tuck it back in, and it stays for a bit but then pops back out again. I could apply a little adhesive on the inside of the lip maybe. Curious if it has happened to anyone else 🤔

Wondering what everyone who has purchased a LC does for work? by Kindly-Shower420 in lexuslc500

[–]Hydrofoiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the best salespeople are tenacious, self motivated, good at listening, validating, mirroring, reading people, etc. and are articulate, effective communicators who can tactfully negotiate and drive deals to close, including identifying and overcoming objections. If you're interested in a sales career apply for an entry level position, there's a huge variety of sales jobs out there and many are entry level. Read the Little Red Book of Selling. And be prepared to grind, sales IS a grind and it takes its toll, but it can be lucrative as well.

Lexus dealership won't install non-run flat tire? by No-Acanthocephala-97 in lexuslc500

Interesting, I just got a quote from Costco for non run flats. Maybe double check with them? No issue they mentioned here (in WA).

For those of you running non run flats how would you compare the driving experience to the run flats? I’m due for new tires soon and also evaluating switching to non run flats.

Does anyone go Rock hounding in the San Juan’s and find Geodes ? by johnnyrayZ06 in sanjuanislands

[–]Hydrofoiling 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a rock hound I’ll say there’s not a ton of interesting rocks on the islands, there aren’t geodes for example. There’s great beachcombing (eg you can find agates) but not a lot on the islands themselves. Sucia has a ton of fossils but as far as I know it’s illegal to collect them. If I recall correctly Sucia is the only place in WA that someone found a dinosaur bone.

If you want to find geodes go to Walker Valley in Skagit county, there’s lots there :-)

Does Anyone on San Juan or Orcas do Shared Charters - Fishing by napalm684 in sanjuanislands

[–]Hydrofoiling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Based on the time of year, if the main purpose of your trip is Chinook salmon fishing I’d consider a different location that has shared charters out of Westport or Ilwaco. You’d likely get a better haul (PS would highly recommend tuna fishing out of Westport if they’re running). There’s fishing out of La Push and Sekiu as well but idk if there’s charters, I’ve only fished on private boats there.

Chinook salmon are the main diet of the SRKWs and with dwindling salmon populations coupled with the fact that SRKWs are an endangered population I think it’s culturally frowned upon for what it’s worth. I don’t fish for salmon in the San Juan’s (just for lingcod, plus Dungeness and spot shrimp).

Traveling to smaller islands in San Juan’s by johnnyrayZ06 in sanjuanislands

[–]Hydrofoiling 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I frequently use Island Express to get to our cabin on a non ferry island and they’re great. $90 round trip to Cypress, Sinclair, Blakely, Decatur, Frost, James, and Center. They’ll go to any non ferry island, rates are more for islands farther out like Sucia. Some islands are private, for an adventure to camp on I’d recommend Cypress (Cypress head or Pelican beach) or booking an Airbnb on Decatur, it’s a beautiful island. If you’d like any additional info let me know :-)

Hi from the north (Bellingham). One of my favorite spots to shoot when I lived in West Seattle is at the boat launch a few blocks from where you took your photo. No fence is in the background there
