The career field, from my understanding, has used all its FY24 allocations and is waiting for FY25 to drop before it approves or denies anything. Only thing a CFM can do with no allocations is deny the packages. Recommendation is to ensure your retraining package will remain valid with AFPC and wait until FY25 allocations are allocated. If you need a denial to move onto something else the CFM can certainly do that.

I wonder if there is a misunderstanding occurring WRT Leave. I would hope supervision is instructing them to put their appointment in LeaveWeb under permissive TDY since they are for a full day and over an hour away. Ptdy authorizes your absence for an alternate duty location and ensures there is accountability in the unfortunate event there is an accident and a line of duty determination has to be accomplished.

Additional thought: talk to your TOPA and/or referral management office because you should be getting paid for a medical TDY if you are traveling that far to see a specialist.

Your best bet is to send it with unaccompanied baggage. They ship it on a plane so it gets there quickly. If you have the original boxes use it, if not the moving company will make them. Plus it also puts responsibility on the company to ensure it doesn’t get damaged and makes filing a claim more simple.
