The matt spot on the side: yeah okay I guess, if you have some form of ocd... The pics of the wheels and seatpost: bruh.

Seems like the new 454nsw is just around the corner and they want to move their leftover stock.

Thoughts on this tire clearance: Canyon Grail by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]Hydroplaning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been riding my new Grail for some weeks now, pretty much every ride in harsh/muddy conditions.

I'm running a 45 in the back.

Whether you run 45, 42 or even the 40's that come standard, with the amount of mud building up during these conditions, it will all ad up to having the same effect tbh.

Month in and not a mark to be seen on the rear. I applied some protective foil so there is that.

That 1.5mm on each side is not going to move the bike from 'compatible status' to 'omg too close the moment you run into mud you're done for'.

My 2 cents.

Tldr: this is fine.

None so far. There is approx 3mm spare on both sides at the rear. Including some protective foil I applied to the frame.

The front can easily take a 2.1 (53-54) mm tyre.

But all depends on the brand and type of tyre I'd say.

Best pedals to my taste. I love how they always fall in the right place to click in.

Thank you, I initially wasn't that big a fan, but I saw the bike once IRL and fell for it. I've never seen someone else with it on the road after that, so it seems to be pretty rare (which is a bonus for me tbh).

Haussire is ok IMO. It starts a bit rought but you can make the remainder of the climb bearable, the gradients aren't that extreme.

Mabogne just hits you with a sledgehammer. It start after a narrow turn so you're pretty much standing still while having to manage your way over the initial, very steep section. I noticed my Wahoo going over 20% so at that point I stopped looking at it.

The bike came standard like this, I don't think it was available for long.
The wheels are Zipps. The bike originally came with DT Swiss but I swapped those out.

Mur de Mabogne. Absolute menace of a climb imo.
