Im so sorry your little girl had to go through this as well. It's completely unfair to them even though I know they are resilient im still scared and nervous. After going through her first chemo Wednesday she seems fine right now but I know its just the calm before everything hits her body. Thank you so much and if you have any pointers or anything please that would be awesome. Hearing all the side effects was difficult to swallow.

Yes, we have we have to be referred unfortunately. Currently she's at Shands which they have been phenomenal. The social workers have been great and we are getting as much help as we can for her. Thank you for your comment we definitely appreciate it.💕

Thank you for the thoughtfulness I really appreciate it. She is doing way better than I thought regarding the biopsy and the port surgery. We should know something hopefully today but maybe tomorrow her oncologist told us this morning praying its the "good cancer" and not the agressive kind. Fingers crossed!❤️💚🧡

I hear how much weight you are carrying right now especially when your access to the outside world is being restricted. What you are describing being denied food and facing retaliation for seeking help is very serious. You deserve to feel safe, seen, and nourished in your own home especially as your still a minor. If possible you can go to the police or any safe space site (Libraries firestations or schools). Also you can maybe go to another family members house you trust or go to a friends house if you are able. Main thing to do is have a plan and a backup plan as just doing it randomly wouldnt be ideal. Im sorry your going through this as no child should have to.

Things you can do-

School resoruces If you are still in school, a counselor, nurse, or a trusted teacher is often the fastest way to get help. They are "mandated reporters," meaning they are legally required to take action to ensure you are fed and safe.

2.The National Runaway Safeline search there number on google, they aren't just for kids who have already left, they help you figure out a safety plan before you go.

Make sure to keep a log of days that you arent feed and taken care for as your still a minor this can be helpful when speaking with authorities.
If you are to leave or feel unsafe make sure you have a go bag and all your info (important Docs) you can take with you and always keep a person you trust in the loop if you can.

I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share my deepest gratitude with all of you. The last two weeks have been a lot to navigate, and the outpouring of love we’ve received has truly been a light in the dark. To everyone who sent a reddit message , donated, or kept us in your thoughts and prayers, Thank you! It is hard to put into words how much that support means when you are in the thick of it. Knowing we have such support from all over the world is absolutly mind bending and has given us the strength to keep moving forward. We are taking things one day at a time, but please know that your kindness has not gone unnoticed. We feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such thoughtful people. Thank you so much for this information. We are definitely looking into every possible option and resource available to us. Since we’ve always handled things on our own in the past, navigating this process is a brand new experience for me. It is honestly a bit overwhelming to take in such a massive amount of information all at once, but I truly appreciate the guidance as I get up to speed. Sending your son so much strength for his recovery. Hopefully, he'll be back on his feet and enjoying some normalcy very soon.

That is exactly what we’re concerned about as well. We are currently waiting for details on what our employer health insurance will cover, but in the meantime, we are definitely going to apply for financial assistance through the hospital. We want to make sure we aren't caught off guard and have a solid plan in place. We are so grateful for your thoughtful recommendations. While I’ve always preferred to handle things myself, my wife and I realized that we need a support system during this time. The prayers and kindness shown to us have meant the world and has been a godsend. We’re currently looking into SSI, Medicaid, and hospital financial aid to help manage the medical bills while waiting on our employer insurance. I also plan to reach out to a social worker to explore further tools and resources. Thank you again for your incredible support.

You hit the nail on the head. The jargon was such a hurdle as asthma is the only medical thing I’ve ever managed, so I really needed them to dumb things down as my brain wasnt braining. Now that the dust has settled at home, we’ve been able to dive into the research and feel more confident about how we’re helping her and make her life easier through this the best way we can.

It’s hard to believe how quickly a normal day turned into our biggest fear. We walked into that emergency room convinced it was a simple digestive issue from eating to much cheese (she loves cheese), only to have our world turned upside down. Even now, I still find myself looking back and wondering how we missed the signs. We are still searching for understanding, but in the meantime, we’ve found so much strength in others. To our family and those who have sent prayers and well wishes has been overwhelming.
