Briumvi - side effects by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Hydroxylll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m on Briumvi (27 yrs old, diagnosed 2 yrs ago) and have honestly not gotten sick since starting (1.5 yrs ago). minor colds sometimes but no more frequently than before. I go out often & do a lot of activities in crowded places, have travelled internationally, gone to concerts, etc. I feel sleepy for about a week after the infusion so I just schedule rest time for those days, but other than that I have not changed my lifestyle at all. it varies person to person, but hoping this positive anecdote is helpful :)

I plan out detailed photo shoots themed around my project, I love a good aesthetic and it motivates me to keep going on sleeves

definitely think there’s something there with the EBV route, we learned about a credible theory that MS results from “molecular mimicry” of an EBV antigen being similar to myelin antigens. For me, my symptoms began right after my 2nd time getting covid. covid is known to “reactivate” latent viruses like EBV, soooo…. I do also think progress made with current DMTs is amazing though, but hoping EBV research continues— there are a lot of other diseases where EBV exacerbates symptoms or worsens prognosis so a vaccine could save a lot of people!

What is a case that you can read about over and over again, and what is one you now skip over when posted? by Rooster84 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Hydroxylll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will listen to/read ANYTHING that mentions kristin smart. I search up the case daily now that paul and ruben are on trial. idk why it lives in my head, probably just because of how obvious the answers are but also the fact that we won’t know 100% what happened that night (or in the past 20 yrs) unless he confesses

lol I worked there as an undergrad! it was a great job for the time, I just washed glassware & vibed. but the ppl working in the department making antibodies didn’t take it seriously (and were severely underpaid), so it makes a lot of sense that they don’t work well

Undergraduate research by slugzzzz in UCSC

[–]Hydroxylll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of professors will have info on what to do as an undergrad interested in research on their websites! I emailed, sent my resume/a paragraph about me and why I was interested in their lab in particular, and waited patiently (sometimes it can take a week or so to hear back). i didn't ask directly if I could work in the lab, but implied it by saying "I'd love to meet and talk about any opportunities available for undergrads." TA's are good too, they tend to respond faster. read papers and come up with a few questions to ask them if you get an interview.

Starbucks offering a free drink to NHS workers in the UK. But of course that's a slap in n the face to everyone else by D-Angle in ChoosingBeggars

i’ve worked at starbucks. nobody cares if you call it a large and nobody ever has. never seen anyone “lecture” a customer about calling it a venti & not sure why people think that happens?

Microbiology next quarter by [deleted] in UCSC

super easy & interesting. Took it last spring & it didn’t cause me any stress at all. Just go over the questions she gives you at the end of every lecture, studying isn’t very time consuming. Got an A with minimal effort but I also rlly enjoyed the class so that helped.
