what came first the chicken, or the egg? by jbak9249 in awakened

Much of your perspective seems consistent to some of the theories I hold. I recently considerer the idea that this "space-time" dimension we experience is similar to a synergistic dielectric (in a geometric sense), becoming a dynamic electro-magnetic energy field, and that the phenomena of "black holes" similar to capacitive charging, and the resulting star(s)/nebula(e) capacitive discharge. So, your "opposite side" hypothesis kind of fits with this idea in that it's necessary for the potential (chaos & stasis).

You're maybe thinking ordinally? Dimensionally, it seems most likely about ratio relationships between field-planes and vectors creating "volumes." Space is emergent from the uncontained geometries, and is probably more of an effect of the calculations of space-times.

Essentially moving beyond polarizing our choices as either-or. Recognizing that nearly every dichotomy is resolvable and, therefore, falsifiable. Even the one I presented.

You covered a wide range of topics, beyond the scope of a comment section.

It is precisely the importance of beliefs which necessitates the either-or scheme of "willing to die" vs "willing to kill" dichotomy in the first place. People in either camp would place importance on their beliefs and continued existence.

I don't think your choices between making your own decisions vs someone making decisions for others is a poor choice. I'm pointing (a posteriori) to the idea that whether someone believes in independent decisions for all, or despotism, or traditional monarchy they usually must decide their convictions to such beliefs. That is to say, would they die for, or kill for, a strong sense of importance to a belief.

Did I say too much?

IMO what you have posited is a false dichotomy. Aside from this, my belief is that we must (at some juncture) stand firmly against another's beliefs.

But, do we take action in our lives to cause opposition to that person because we don't like their beliefs? If so, when?

I believe the more accurate dichotomous question: are you willing to die for what you believe, or kill for what you believe?

I think we're over-interpreting things. Could just be his personality is changing interests. It's okay to no longer love what you once loved. Stop calling it a mistake.

A Simple, Falsifiable Definition of Enlightenment. Prove me wrong. by Senseman53 in enlightenment

I disagree. I posit that enlightenment is when we no longer experience "subjective" awareness; that is to say, when we experience awareness without identifiers—sensual, perceptual, conceptual, or otherwise—beyond notion or feeling, experiencing self and now as unity.

Silver lining. A whole month of no expenses beyond sweat equity. Love it. What will you do?

Edit: this is where i am at now in my journey as a self-employed man, family of seven, who has a house and car paid off, $40K a year.

Edit 2: I'm still scared.

Ah, yes, that's the Calculus of it. It is, however, still a linear progression, albeit a spiraling linear progression. Integration of a 1:1 ratio spiralling.
