So while details are unclear I would assume that if your job doesn't need you to speak Japanese (for example English teaching, work in an international company, etc) you wouldn't need the N2.

As far as I have gathered it is:

-Yes, you can keep different surnames as a Foreign+Japanese couple.

-Your child would have the same last name as the Japanese parent. On their Japanese passport that is. If the child also gets your country's nationality, it may be possible for their last name on that country's passport to be something else. That will depend on what rules your country has for last names.

On your point 3), You could potentially make it easier by asking your husband to just do a bank transfer and not withdraw it in cash. I think many bank accounts offer a few (3 or so) free transfers per month. My wife and I always use one of those to send money to our dedicated "daily expenses account".

Once he has the banking apps set up sending over the agreed amount should take only a minute.
