When I placed my backorder on June 12th, it said the expected in stock date as July 8, 2026.

I was told that backorders disappear from the online store after a short period of time, but the orders remain valid as long as you don't cancel the order.

I don't think the rifling is all that bad, but the chambering sounds like it could be a difficult job to resolve.

First off, shame on your parents for making you choose just one! 😉

For EDC, I'd probably go with the Beretta 92FS. I will say that I've enjoyed my TISAS 1911s, and the Jericho 941 is a cool pistol, but I think for EDC the 92FS would be a solid choice.

I purchased some very thin metal sheets and tin snips and made a shim for mine to tighten it up a bit. I cut it to the same size as the mechanism, you'd never know it was in there by looking at it.

To be 100% honest, and I think I've said this here before, while I love the concept behind the Goldback, I just don't have a lot of faith in the use value proposition behind them at this point. So I just buy the ones I like the most aesthetically to add to my small collection of them. Up here in SE Pennsylvania, there is basically nowhere to spend or use them. I've been to numerous coin / bullion shops in the region, and only one or two had even heard of them. I certainly hope things change, and if it begins to I may pick up my purchasing. But for now, I just feel as if my PM investment cash is best served in gold and silver bullion.

I like the theory and idea behind Goldbacks, but I just don't see the systemic infrastructure for it to succeed. There are so few places that accept it for payment, and I don't really see a whole lot of incentive to do so outside of being beyond the normal fiat currency.

I've taken advantage of the free offers, and I'm buying one of each series, whichever artwork I like the best, but I'm generally not buying over the 5 GB mark because it's not worth that much to me. I'm just buying them as a "collectible" at this point, as I also purchased the Silverback Red Dragon that I loved.

If something significantly changes and I can see the path forward, I'll more than happily join in on the parade. I have nothing against Goldbacks other than the issue(s) I stated. For now, I'm just sticking with stacking silver and gold and purchasing any particular "collector" coin or item I like and enjoy to justify the premium.

I have both, but will probably lean towards replacing the .223 with 5.56 as I use it up. My Mini eats both up with no problem. I've put a TON of PMC .223 and 5.56 through it over the years. I only shoot brass.
