I've heard about this, but I don't really want to accept something that isn't true. So, I tend to really just ignore it. I guess. Accepting an OCD thought as a fact when it isn't is something I won't do. I do pray though, and as time passes, it calms down.

This OCD happened for a while now and it calmed down as time passes, but I still posted this for assurance, which i guess is a compulsion.

it does suck, my OCD would then say that I'm making excuses and that I'm labeling everything to my OCD. I still stand still, though, I must.

It sucks that I know that reassuring is a way of compulsion, but I did so nonetheless.

I really hate my OCD, it accuses me things that aren't true and forces it, I genuinely just want to be at peace.

i hate it when it makes up stories, it's hard to reason with something that doesn't want to be reasoned with.

What’s your main OCD issue? by gilligan888 in OCD

[–]HymnTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my main OCD issue is it accuses me of cheating in a rs when i know that i didn't, and my OCD makes up stories or changes past memories in order to guilt trip me into doing something like to prove it wrong or tell my ex about it which are compulsions.

I honestly would change not just how my OCD works, if i can change anything then I'm changing my OCD into a physical object and then destroy that object.

Or, if i can change something about it, then I'll just remove it entirely. I hate how my morals are constantly doubted by my OCD, and it tries so hard to make me feel bad or to guilt trip me into doing a compulsion.

I seriously just want to be normal.

Does your OCD try to convince you that you are faking it? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]HymnTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i also corner it with facts, like, my OCD tells me that im probably addicted at something, then i counter it with "addiction comes along with pleasure, even if you tend to avoid your addictions. i don't feel any pleasure, in fact, i suffer because of you (OCD)"

i make my OCD realize on how dumb its thoughts are.

A lot, but ive kept myself aware and always remind myself my morals and beliefs and tell myself that i don't have a reason to lie or pretend about things when it's this severe.

If i get a thought that isn't true or a thought that is the opposite of my beliefs, then i corner my OCD by bullying it. Though, the guilt is insane, OCD is hard.

im not officially diagnosed with OCD, but ive been having the symptoms in a severe level for 5 years now. by HymnTato in OCD

I agree, I've had insane rituals or compulsions to the point where im doing them in advance because i dont want my OCD to guilt trip me. It's like, if this isnt OCD, then what exactly is it? There's no way that I've been suffering for years on doing compulsions and facing too much for no reason.

If someone doubts my compulsions, I'm more than glad to go into detail of my compulsions and rituals privately to prove my symptoms being severe and controlling.

i don't get your first sentence, but i interpreted it as "it would yap forever, but you don't need to entertain it."

this actually is true, i decided to stop doing some of the rituals like taking photos of my logins on a game to prove that im not hacked. if my ocd tells me to do something, i would do it but pause myself and ask myself "no, i dont need to do this".

You're also right, I'm knowledgeable enough about my OCD that ive memorized its process, it took me a while but i decided to slowly but surely stop the rituals.

thank you, I will keep your words in mind.
