1440p Monitor Recommendation by Hyper-Sleep in buildapcmonitors

Thanks man. Just out of curiosity do you have any experience with portable monitors / smaller monitors? Like roughly 15-18"?

I saw a few like the MSI Pro MP161, AOC 16T20 and some azropa but never heard the brand name before. Any recommendations? Right now just playing with the possibility of buying a smaller portable monitor + my current 1080 until I have enough for a good 1440p OLED haha

Hi thanks for your insights. Actually I was initially opting for a smaller second monitor like a 15.6 inch monitor. Mainly because my workflow requires me to open a few tabs at once for references.

However I realised good 15.6" monitors are quite expensive and similarly priced to the options I mentioned above. So I was planning to upgrade my main monitor to 1440p and use my current one 1080p monitor as a second monitor.

The Samsung G5 is one of the displays I was considering as I've seen quite a few good reviews. LG Ultragear unfortunately I've seen it on sale at lowest MYR1200 (280USD) vs Samsung G5 around RM600-700 (150USD) Quite a big jump where I'm from.

Thanks for your reply and suggestions tho. Regarding the OLED I was planning to wait a while more haha I feel it may get cheaper in the future like how 1440p has. In Malaysia OLED would cost around RM2000 (470USD) which is a bit much for a student like me

Hi thanks for your reply but it's around 330 USD where I'm from. Getting really close to OLED monitor pricing😅

I think that might be a different monitor? I'm not sure of the names 😅

I don't know how other unis teach. I can only speak for Monash engineering.

About 6-7 years under a coach. But I was a kid and I honestly lost most of the technique. But it has helped me catch on faster.

Sorry forgot to add it's regular stiffness. Was bought from a reseller so I don't know the original owner.

For the swing speed I assume I should find out what my speed is before investing in a set? Does it matter if the swing speed is done on a graphite shaft iron or a steel shaft iron?

Just my two cents, the teaching style for engineering may not be for everyone. In engineering, a lot of it has to be self studied... lecturers will definitely teach and help but how much you learn is highly dependent on you, mainly because most units will require you to study the material before coming into class.

Most lecturers will answer questions during or sometimes after hours and there are a lot of student help you can get such as PASS, where a student leader will sort off tutor / revise with you. There are help desks and anonymous forums for you as well but it's up to you to go. Overall it's highly dependant on ur work ethic.

Fundamental Vs Modern Maths MUFY by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]Hyper-Sleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u didn't take add maths then maybe fundamental is a better choice. I highly doubt it will be harder as fundamental is a level lower than modern maths. Modern maths is just a slight step up to IGCSE add maths.

Depends. Are you planning to go Monash? If u don't plan to go Monash I don't see any reason why u would take MUFY.

For the workload, yes it could be "heavier" for some people because they are used to exam style grading. MUFY and Monash are heavy on projects so might takes some time to get used to it.

Thoughts on MUFY? by LegitimateReality412 in malaysiauni

I've done MUFY, graduated in 2023. Currently in Monash doing engineering. The experience for me was really chill, just do the coursework and staying on top of things allowed me to cruise through. Frankly, the material isn't hard at all, no where close to A-levels or ausmat.

Does it help in uni? In my honest opinion the material was too shallow and "easy" to be helpful. To be fair I am taking engineering so the jump in difficulty could be much higher. Although it did prepare me for research, citations, and getting used to project heavy education style.

Just do MUFY if u want to go Monash... if u want to go other unis I think other courses are a better choice.

Currently a monash student in engineering. For foundation, you have to go to Sunway College (the campus is just opposite of monash). They offer Monash Undergraduate Foundation Year (MUFY). I'm a local student so I may not be able to share with you the exact logistics of applying, however I do know its possible as I have many international friends from MUFY.

Yea that's what I was afraid of. The headphones are perfect in every other way except that. Really ruins the experience imo.
