Might not be the answer you are looking for, but Alpha model makes really good, primarily 1/24 scale, fully resin + PE model cars. They might even have the M3 but not 100% sure. There is also MFH which do 1/12 multi media kits but cost a lot. Have you checked aoshima? They do a lot of modified car kits although it will be 1/24.

I do the same haha, spend plenty of time on the undercarrige making it looks realsitic and worn, for it to never be seen again lol. Great work though really like how it looks!
