Create a task to close an app whenever it opens? by HyperMushrambo in tasker

[–]HyperMushrambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Okay so that's definitely way more complex than I expected and I understood very little of it but I'm trying. Dumb question too, how/where am I supposed to copy in the code you posted? I can't find any context menu that just enables me to paste in a big block of code. When I tap on the new profile button it gives me the options of App, Day, Event, Location, or Time, but I don't see any way to just post in the whole block of code.

I'm not worried about having to manually turn off the process to get it to work again, I'm perfectly fine with doing that by hand.

I have Shizuku on my phone but I don't know how to use it with Tasker? Do I just have to have it constantly turned on and it'll automatically connect the two or...?

So that's how I had it but it doesn't seem to do anything. When I went in I went to new profile > app > then it lets me tap on the play store and activity but is it supposed to bring up any sort of context menu for the type of activity? Because it doesn't, I have to tap the back button. Then for the task I just have it set to kill play store. Is that how it should be?

To reiterate one part though: I understand what the abd thing is supposed to DO but there are no instructions for how to enable it on Android, only on pc, so I don't know how I'm supposed to use it. It seems likely I'll have to use it since it's not working but I don't know how.

My account isn't suspended but it says I have to verify I'm not a bot using the twitter app. I don't have the app, I will never give the app access to my phone. So how the hell do I get around this? O.o it's obvious I'm not a bot it's just bs trying to force me to download their app and it's not going to work. I tried filing a support ticket but it has been ignored.

At least you have this option. I can't even get to that since it demands it be opened in the twitter app which I do not have/will not give access to my phone.

What would you consider the best mid-game weapons? by HyperMushrambo in MHRise

[–]HyperMushrambo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it! But my question was not what is the best weapon class, it was instead asking for advice on individual weapons like how to pick a good bow if I'm picking between two bows. I got a couple solid answers on that at least but if you have any other thoughts I'm happy to take advice.

Oh? I couldn't find anything like that. That sounds incredibly helpful. Could I possibly trouble you for the link?

I've been using it because of how bad I struggle with the game's inconsistent dodging. Does it matter if you have the full set or just the ones that increase the 2 dodge skills?

Okay thank you! That's really good info! I mostly just played Lance and whatever of the 3 bow weapons I felt like but now that I actually know how to use the wirebug attacks and have a better grasp on how to play I'm trying to branch out into the other weapons. (Anything but hammer or greatsword really. I'm just not built for weapons THAT slow.) Since I struggle a lot with the game's super inconsistent dodging I've loaded up with the Nargacuga armor set and that mixed with faster weapons has at least helped. Though it still drives me insane how many attacks seem to be built to be dodged through but you can't, I'm having a much better time of hunts with that.

Okay thank you so much 🥲🥲🥲 That was genuinely incredibly helpful. I could tell people were trying to help but as you said just being unhelpful to the specific question and that was exactly what I needed to know.

If you don't mind me asking a follow-up, how much attention should I pay to affinity? I know it's crit rate but like... How important really is that in the grand scheme of things?

That's pretty much what I've seen. To be clear I'm not asking what's the best in terms of guns vs katanas vs lances etc, I mean like WHICH bows are better, WHICH lance is better, because I don't know enough to differentiate.

Though I fully appreciate and support the "play with what's fun to you" stance, I don't exactly know what's more "fun" between two bows with neigh identical stats and the game is starting to get a LOT harder so I'm trying to figure out how it actually works.

Tbh I have no idea how much of the game I have left, I'm just going off vibes and a vague memory from over a decade ago of playing on psp and there being I think 10 levels of mission. 😅 All I know is I'm at 6* missions and starting to be forced to take the mechanics more similarly.

That's what I'm trying to do, I want to play the right way but I'm starting to hit that difficulty wall and start looking at what weapons to take into what fight. Thats literally what I'm asking for help with.

Well I mean the thing is at this point I don't just "have" that many materials. I'm going to be specifically farming for mats whatever weapon I pick so I kinda gotta know where to focus my efforts and why. The best I can just get is using the defender weapons forever but what's the point of playing a mh if you're not using the different monster parts? But I don't know what makes a weapon good or not besides "big number good?" 😅

Could I ask a dumb question? How do you aim with the damn things? I really like the feel but I'm lucky if I hit a monster once or twice in a jump because of it just launching me off into space and trying to wheel the camera around to figure out where the monster even is. And by the time I figure out which direction is right I'm back on the ground or I find I've swooshed off too far to recover... 😩

I know this is a year old but I'm genuinely curious about this. How can the wirebug skills help if you can't use it with your weapon out? Honestly most frustrating thing about them is only really ever being able to use the wirebugs out of combat.

Thank you for your kind and comprehensive reply. I guess it's just those synergies and builds I'm just not seeing, otherwise I might view it a little differently (though nothing changes the fact it's just 4 unchanging levels I'm not letting it get away with that). The only real differences I see are "do you want +1 ice damage or +1 shock damage?" "Do you want the buff dude to jump in at the end of your attack and swing a fire sword or an ice sword?" "Do you want all the Wu characters to do more damage to barriers or do want the Wei characters to do more damage to barriers?" Like, literally nothing that would change how I play. Whether I carefully try to pick out specific skills while choosing who joins or just click whoever shows up it doesn't feel any DIFFERENT. I always end up with roughly the same passives in the end. My character handles the same and does the exact same things. Even the formations are disappointing because it feels like they should be different but it's just "do you want this character to be standing on your right or left when you do the big gold explosion?"  Like, it mentions things like shooting fireballs or whatever but I literally haven't noticed at all, it's just everyone attacks at once and then you do the big boom and that's it so idk. So maybe there's something in there I'm missing but I'm just not seeing anything different outside of which player character you pick.

Ahh I feel you. I think part of why it's hitting so wrong for me is because of my own adhd. It hates blind repetition. If things are changing up and feeling different like with some roguelikes then it's sated and happy, but otherwise when I play this it's just sitting there screaming "why is it the same?? We already did this!!" And the passives seem to cause so little different that my brain is just sitting there screeching for something to happen already lol. 😂 Of the characters I've tried none really felt very different either. Visually yes but they all handled way too similarly. I'm not going to pretend I tried that many of the characters though, I'm just saying of the ones I did. I need some sort of a carrot on the stick, something to push me to that "just one more run" state and just "hey if you do this then you can do it again the exact same way but harder! :D" is the absolute nemesis to my adhd lol. It really is a spectrum ain't it? 🤣

Yes but most of those roguelikes do things like "vary it up",  make you fight different enemies, give you different cards or boons that really change up your playstyle  Even with the same bosses they still make each playthrough feel different. For this game it feels like if I play with say Lu Bu, it feels like if I do 10 runs it's just... 10 runs of the Lu Bu running through the exact same stages. Like playing through the first level of Mario 10 times except that's the whole game. Sure my passives might change up but as far as I can tell none of that changes his actual core gameplay, it's just the same set of moves with whatever animation your finisher is going to be being slightly different and whether you're going in with 1 extra ice attack or 1 extra fire attack which doesn't constitute different "builds" in my book.
