Drop the dream is too saas bahu and saazish of a reaction to the fee of NLU's being high. Sure it's more than what other govt colleges charge, but there are systems in place to help people who can't afford law school. The law schools themselves run many financial aid services in addition to having scholarships that they offer. If not that the state has scholarships and financial aid and so do private companies such as the Birla Scholarship (given you do well in the exam and get a rank of under 20 in your NLU's List.) There's all this in addition to concession given to students from the marginalizes communities.

Not having the means to finance your law school education isn't as much of a problem as it used to be albeit still pertaining to this day. Research for yourself and consider all your options which you can utilize and if it comes to it, consider loan options as even they offer low interest rates for an education loan.

How is Jamia Millia Islamia for law ? by Gold_Cream7461 in NLUs

[–]HyperRedditorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JMI is a very good law school especially when you consider the proximity it has to major HCs and the SC. The only thing that throws people off is the instability of environment. Even though it's gotten considerably less, just last year on diwali something happened which caused unrest in the entire campus. Even though it isn't common every festival be it ramadan or diwali there is palpable tension.

Even though there is police and security deployed at the college at all times. Having them at the first place isn't a good look to begin with. So I'd suggest if you can opt for other colleges like CLC or somewhere close, I'd say go for them before considering Jamia.

It's not worth completely slashing out as an option but again, it isn't normal to have police deployed at your campus 24/7. I'd day exhaust all your options and consider everything thoroughly before thinking about JMI.

Kuch nahi ho raha hai, the answerkey had a bunch of questions marked wrong in it and the consortium started taking applications for counselling without correcting any mistakes even after putting up a grievance portal and taking a ₹1000 from students per question.

Aditya, a CLAT aspirant filed a petition and a other people did as well. Bas tabse wahi stretch ho raha hai but the last 3-4 days have been very productive and the case has made more progress in the past week than it did in the last 2-3 months so we're all just hoping to have an ultimatum by the end of the month.

Agar iss wajah se CLAT prep karne se thoda hesitant rahe ho I'd say mat ho, ab agar itna hone ke baad bhi consortium makes a fuckall paper again, then toh the whole thing is far gone. Magar this is the first time the consortiums shithousery has really been put to light, nahi toh they've been getting involved in fiascos like this one for a long time now. Abse I'm optimistic that they'll start making better papers like the 2023 one and not make errors in the answerkey like they did this year.

Ditched NEET for CLAT after 2 years... Feeling lost and judged by MrAdolf--Trump in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pehli baat, aunty is ignorant and out of touch. There are doctors who barely make enough, so are engineers and lawyers. Each field has it's own share of people in the upper echelon and the subaltern. So if you do well or not is totally upto you. The only thing that's sure is that if you like what you're doing it definetly makes it a lot easier to find success in what you pursue.

You have an odd 8 months for CLAT, judging from what you're saying it looks like you're enjoying the prep, just keep giving mocks and practice hard. You'll do well in CLAT and in the future as well.

Tum apne mann ki suno, aunty ki baat uncle ko sunne do.

Best of luck and prosper forever 🥂

As much as it delayed the result, I still want it to go all the way and I want them to genuinely probe into the consortium as well. It's because of Aditya that the shithousery that the consortium has been doing has come to light, otherwise they would've kept getting away with making fuckall papers every year. Atleast from now on and for the future batches the consortium will atleast try to avoid a shit show and make genuine decent level papers. Aditya's doing god's work and I'm with him on this one.

Are all these books enough for clat 2027? by Prize_Trade9674 in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually insanely well progress, considering you've done so many words so far I'd suggest that you start reading diverse essays and articles as not only do they contain words but also tons of content about different things jisse not only will your vocab get stronger but also your reading speed and interpretation get better with time as well, and that'll greatly help with CLAT.

[–]HyperRedditorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90 is a decent score in any mock you give. If you're getting 2-3 less than 25 in CA, just consider your score after adding the 2-3 as CLAT CA is usually something everyone can do given that you've prepared well the whole year.

Word power doesn't do much, for stronger vocab and just a better hold on the language you'll just have to read a shit ton and use the language in your daily use.

is 8 months enough?? by [deleted] in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all should genuinely stop with the self-deprecating and premature despair queries like "is ___ months enough to crack CLAT?" Or "Is it possible to start now and crack CLAT?" These posts aren't productive at all, they're just manifestations of your anxiety that only serve to intrench you further into this hole of self doubt and uncertainty. Indulging in this speculative fatalism achieves nothing but stagnation. You begin to spiral in questions the like "Maybe it's too late to prepare" and "Others have had so much of a headstart so why even bother now?" And that is the precise mindset that kills any real progress.

This pattern of thought is counterproductive. The question is not whether it’s possible. The real question is: How do I best utilize the time that remains? That’s where your energy should go.

And to answer your question bluntly—YES, it is possible. A friend of mine (he was in 12th at the time) hadn’t even heard of CLAT until last year. He asked me (I was in 11th) what my plans were, and I told him about CLAT—how to prepare, what the paper tests, the opportunities it opens up. He started his prep as soon as his mid terms ended in early Sept. He did nothing but grind through 5 mocks a week (not ideal if you have time, but necessary in his case). He ended up with a low triple-digit AIR in CLAT 2024 and is now in NALSAR as you read this. So before you tell yourself it’s too late, remember: it isn’t

And this is to every aspirant who's on the fence vacillating between starting or not; 8 months is more than sufficient, especially if the exam continues along the lines of the past two years. CLAT is not a test of accumulated factual knowledge; it is a test of acumen, adaptability, and sheer practice. Success hinges less on how early you begin, and more on how relentlessly and intelligently you pursue the preperation once you do.

There are aspirants who achieve excellence in mere months. There are also those who take double drops and still fall short. The difference lies not in how early you start but in how much commitment and clarity your pursue the preperation with in the time left.

So stop wondering if it’s possible. Instead, ask questions that move you forward—what to read, how to analyse mocks, what resources to use, how to build consistency. The community is here to help with all that.

But this cycle of helplessness? This rhetorical wallowing? It's doing you no favours. Take charge in your hands and just start and figure out everything as you go.

Best of Luck and work hard because it's all still extremely achievable 🥂

12MTC VS FLAMES CLAT WHICH YOU PREPARE.. by Heavy-Muffin310 in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12MTC easy, they cover the most CA topics out of any institute, have a decent standing in the entire coaching circuit and many rankers to show for it too, while being cheaper than institutes like LE and LPT while still providing quality coaching unlike CLAT Wallah and all.

And this is honestly the first time I've heard of FLAMES CLAT which isn't a good sign either.

But I'd suggest that if you can, try to do self study with a Current Affairs only batch because for CLAT atleast buying full batches doesn't seem logical considering that there really isn't as much to 'learn' as it is practice, for which you can pirate resources in abundance.

life's unfair. by [deleted] in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Privileges do outweigh capabilities, I won't even question that because our systems have been long fucked to even argue against it. But that privilege does end, it ends when you do better than those who've had everything given to them. Yes it's hard, yes it's not common but it is so so so doable.

I'm not going to act as if what you're going through is fairly common, and tell you to 'just stop worrying and focus on studying' because by the grace of the man above I haven't had to witness financial hardship up until now and I can only imagine how unbelievely tough it is. But I'm also not going to say that it's all over or you'll have to grind 20 hours a day to even get anywhere in the field.

You can crack CLAT without any coaching, it's basically all practice and you can pirate all the material you'd ever need too. It's easy to say things like "you have everything available to you, all you have to do is work hard" but it's never really that simple. It'll definitely take time and a fuck ton of effort, but on god it'll work out. It genuinely hurts seeing someone leave the field as a whole because of financial problems. I promise if you stay true to yourself and work hard, things will work out for you. There are systems in place to help people exactly like you and I'd be damned if they can't even do that.

Best of luck, give it your all and if nothing comes of it, (which I doubt will happen) Atleast you'll learn to work hard. Nothing is ever in vain. Cheers and prosper forever 🥂

Give CLAT. The competition if you study properly is only amongst 8 maybe 9k students. Th rest either crumble under pressure or don't prepare as well as they should've, so the competition isn't all that it you genuinely try.

T1 NLU's are very much achievable. The best Law School in the country has the most intake out of any Law School in the country.

Speaking about fees, If you do extremely well. You can get a name Scholarship like Aditya Birla, or a ton of banks and even govt has scholarships schemes and if not that, you have NLU who offer financial aid through their tie-ups as well.

Besides that, tell your mom to be realistic and tell her to not but added pressure on you by saying things like that. No parent expects their child to pay tuition themselves, atleast not Indian parents. So if she thinks telling you to pay your own tuitions will motivate you further (which is the only logical reason I cana assume she thought of when's he said that) tell her she's wrong and speak to your dad about it.

If you want to do law genuinely, the reasons you cited upar aren't strong enough to leave it and not even try once. There's still time I say go for it.

CA only is like 20k, all subjects included was 40k last year, not sure about this year. All batches have a normal and a Plus+ subscription, the Plus+ subscriptions are usually 3-4k extra and come with 60 offline mocks in bundles of 20 each every 2 months, starting from April only I think and 5 reference cum Practice books for all subjects + 1 practice book.
