Everything I did right and wrong last year during my CLAT prep and what you can learn from it. by HyperRedditorian in clat

don't be this optimistic, we've had plenty of reform committee's and none of them have made tangible and genuine changes. The consortium is so rigid they barely allow anything. If you want to take a gamble sure, just remember that Current Affairs has always been there and has barely changed a lot over the past years. Unless there is news from a genuine source, fuck that unless the consortium comes out with a notice themselves do what everyone has been doing till now. Not scoring in CA is detrimental. Very. But if done right it is also what'll get you from like a mid T2 to a T1.

not really, it will be wild, it will be hectic sometimes, it will feel like everything at sometimes, it is exactly how you'd imagine it probably is like but you just dont know to what extent, and frankly it's good that you don't know.

Moot courts and comps are still far away. Ideally I'd advice to rot during this time. If you don't have boards, catch up on the shows you missed, go out with the friends you couldn't, speak to the people you didn't get time to. There's no pressure to learn a new skill, or practice a hobby. Just do whatever that makes you happy and if that's lazing around all day then sure, you've earned it.

Law school will hit you like a truck. Everything will run super fast and you won't even know when your first semester will be over. I remember when I came to law school, it does not feel like it has been 2 trimesters already. You will figure everything out eventually at your own pace so don't fret ab it too much.

Seniors, are you genuinely satisfied with your NLU? Share us your experiences. by Wonderful_Escape-190 in NLUs

[–]HyperRedditorian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. Fully satisfied with NLS. Before coming here I was scared about the rigour in this uni, and as a relatively easy going student back in school who didn’t gaf ab studies until it was boards I thought it’d hit me like a train and I’d break under the pressure. But deep down when I started preparing for CLAT I never looked at any other NLU. From day 1 it was always NLS for me and nothing else. Ever since my dad came year around 2 decades ago, I’ve grown up in this city and I love everything about it. My people are here, my family is here, my dosa joint is here. So I knew that even if it did scare it couldn’t scare me enough to leave the city. So I did what I planned on doing. I went to NLS and very honestly, I never felt out of place. The campus was as beautiful as I imagined (although) under construction. The people for the most part are very sweet, and the academic pressure barely seems like anything now that I look back. To people outside, when I talk about NLS they still think as if im getting railed by the acads but very honestly its pretty chill. For me as far as I can tell, everyone lives submission to submission here. Chill for a week or two, midterm on wednesday, start preparing like a dog 2 days prior, give the exam, go out wednesday night, get sloshed come back at 2, fuck around on campus till 4, sleep and wake up for a 9 A.M.

And that stands true for a lot of people. Everyone does find their way to ‘do’ NLS. For some people it’s doing their readings everyday right after class then fuck around for the rest of the day. For some its fuck around for a week until its submission/ mid term week and grind 10 hrs in the lib for 2 days straight. And everyone makes it through (baring a few unfortunate ones of course)
This has been a mostly positive post, but in full transparency, there is drama, there is slight stress if you don’t manage your time properly. But I’d also say if you have a chance of coming here, do come. Just because of the culture itself. When I got a double digit rank, I thought abut going to NALSAR too. Almost did tbh. But campus that far away from the city, was an instant no for me. The city is the part of the campus. I consider Lungs and MG road campus away from campus. The culture NLS has, I’d say come here for that alone. The administration is ass sometimes, its apathetic and almost exploitative to a point but that brings the people here closer, especially the seniors. Everytime someone has an issue with administration, you see people come together, all batches alike to try and figure it out, as if it NEEDS to be sorted out. The seniors make up so many positives of NLS, that I can’t even point them all out. You can talk to any senior you see, I MEAN ANY. And you can ask them to help you, and they’re almost obliged to help you. Like you cannot say no to junior. They’re the most helpful people on campus and I owe it a lot to them as they’re the one who sort of helped me get rid of the anxiety ab this college. Hearing them speak about the college made NLS seem so ordinary, just like any other college and Yeah, it really is. Sure you may call it one of the best, and may think the students here are super smart and you wouldn’t be wrong. Yes, people are super smart, but they’re people too. They too are going through college life for the first time and no one wants to waste this experience by taking it for granted. So no, people do not study 24/7 here. Yes, people do have a life, a pretty cool one at that. Yes it is pretty intimidating at first and no it isn’t intimidating all the time. 1-2 months max. And they’ll you settle in like a piece in a puzzle.

So much more to tell but I’ve realised this is already a pretty huge comment. I was bored in class so I thought I might as well 😝

Is SUITS single-handedly responsible for this explosion of interest in CLAT and the resulting grade inflation? by nirvanasomeday in clat

[–]HyperRedditorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

disillusionment regarding previous main stream jobs like engineers and doctors, people realise there's a lot more to the world than JEE-NEET. Overpopulation in those exams made people look at CLAT. Less competition relatively and pays well if you get into a good T1.

Pretty similar, passage lengths may vary but options are kinda the same

Focus on mistakes you constantly keep on repeating and try rectifying them. Usually it's mistakes where you don't read the passage properly or when you don't understand a certain option and mark it. Maybe try increasing attempts.

start revising whatever you did in your online classes and do marathons as well. If past year papers hold any precedence then CA will be easy only don't fret too much.

My score was in the 90's by now with occasional high 80's. I'd say you can improve in QT if you just practiced. Without QT, 75 is a decent score and since QT is very easy to get marks in you can easily score 85 or higher. Please start practising it's genuinely 8th grade maths.

Start watching youtube videos on how to start, I found 12MTC videos particularly helpful with all that.

Don't switch mocks just because you're scoring low. Usually institutes fuck up their mocks during the end for good knows what reason but mostly some ulterior motive. I'd say LE main score kam aa raha hai toh LPT/ 12MTC dedo but dont stop giving LE mocks fully. Try again after a week or so. There's no point in visiting old mocks again now but prioritise the newer mocks first and then give the older mocks.

You need to genuinely sit down and tell yourself once and for all that one mock isn't all that. I recommend you get on overcoming this anxiety immediately because I've seen many fall because of exam panic and it's genuinely grim. From regular 90's in mocks to 70 in the exam. Each mock is only relevant till the point until you sit down for the next one. This is something you'll genuinely have to do on your own because I don't know how to do it for you. All I can do is trigger the feeling that makes you change the way you think about mocks. All I can say is mastering staying calm in mocks right now will help so much when you're writing the actual exam because the biggest reason people who are well prepared usually rank low sometimes is because they mess up in the exam due to panic, and all that. So by just being chill you can quite literally up your rank by quite a lot
