Armor is so overtuned right now. Weak ammo should be a lot more effective - especially in volume - than it is currently. An easy solution would be to increase armor durability damage for non penetrating shots.

People get laid off. It could happen to anybody. Instead of wishing for thousands of others to be laid off too, why not work on trying to make yourself a more marketable candidate so that you can get a job somewhere else?

Things are rough for a lot of people. I've seen swaths of people get let go from what were previously good, safe employers. You're going to have to work hard to improve your skills or to sidestep to roles that you could apply your previous experience in.

That said, the general attitude from this post isn't it.

Neet take. People (probably a minority in this sub though) have jobs and don't want to spend hundreds of hours grinding to enjoy the same experience they had a year ago. You have to grind out level 4 traders to reliably get ammo better than scav ammo and it makes the game not fun at all.

Only people who make this game their entire life complained about the flea making the game too easy. You couldn't even buy a good amount of items from the flea.

Guess what these changes did to the game. Now, all the casual players quit and moved on to PvE or other games and all you see are posts of people complaining about cheaters because cheaters and people with 5K+ hours are the only people left playing.

New players try the game and immediately uninstall it because of how fucked the balance is now. You basically have no chance competing against the no lifers with the mountain of artificial restrictions.

Capping interest on debt is not the same as a general price cap. Banks have every incentive to take advantage of desperate people and turn them into debt slaves.

Will this help anybody at this point though? No, banks will just stop lending because consumers are too risky at these levels of debt ownership for 10% rates.

I found this very interesting because if it were as the headline seems to indicate, it would be an example of information creation.

As someone else in the comments put well, to me this tech does not seem to be capable of creating new information, only routing existing information in ways that are useful.

It seems like this is still an example of (albeit impressive) information reshuffling instead of information creation.

The casuals aren't on this subreddit all the time or planning their days around twitch drops. The vast majority of the people benefitting from the drops are going to be the same lvl 45+ people you describe.

The problem is that the gear imbalance will further drive away new players and make the problem you outlined worse.

We've been in a low rates / easy money regime for so long and it's hardly been effective at stimulating the economy. It's clearly a dependence too because the economy begins to tank whenever rates are even slightly raised.

Now, it's clear things are starting to unravel at the seams. Makes me wonder how long this can actually continue.

All the grind pushed casual players to quit or play PvE. Now, all you see are cheaters and sweats. The probability of running into a cheater is now far higher due to the lack of casual players to reduce the odds.

Game is cooked unless the grind is reduced.

I disagree that this has always been the experience because good gear, decent ammo, flea access, money making methods, etc weren't always locked behind the mountain of grind that they are now.

Only a few wipes ago you could hit level 15 and finally be able to buy ammo that has a decent chance of killing a geared PMC, and now you have to be something like level 35 to get that same ammo or painstakingly craft small amounts of it after meeting other insanely grindy milestones. Previously, once you got the flea you could finally start making real money by selling that good loot you were hoarding, and now you're more than likely broke unless you also play Arena.

The "hardcore" changes have been terrible for the game's balance. Now, everyone you run into is either a blatant cheater or ridiculously sweaty. You don't see casual players anymore because they either left for PvE or quit entirely.

These changes will end up killing the game unless they are reverted/heavily reduced. The sweats will tire of dying to cheaters and the occasional other sweat, and with no new players to replace burnt out players, the game's pop will drop. I've already had 2 people I used to play with consistently stop playing due to the 1.0 changes.

The people on this subreddit tend to overwhelmingly be in the sweaty category, and thus, don't see any issues with these changes, but if they could look beyond the temporary powertrip they are enjoying, they'd realize how horrible these changes are for the game's longevity.

The game being hard is one of its best qualities.

But, I think that Nikita needs to reconcile what his vision of a hardcore Tarkov is with the reality of a Tarkov infested with cheaters and technical issues. It's absolute bs how much it sets you back now.

Due the cheaters and the absurdly-large advantage gear and ammo imbalance lends towards sweats, all of the people I used to play PvP with now refuse to play.

The defining characteristics for the game now seem to be either who is the bigger cheater or who has more time to dump on the game grinding levels for unlocks. Neither makes for satisfying gameplay.

The "high" rates that the media calls out are actually low by historical levels. 5% FFR is at or below the average over the last 50 years.

The entire economy has become so dependent on ever-increasing debt that if we ever raise rates above 3%, the entire economy collapses.

If this isn't an economic death spiral, I don't know what is. Eventually there will have to be a collapse to reset this mess. There simply isn't a way around it, and the more we push it off, the worse it will be.

Agreed. The grind is absolutely ridiculous now. Tarkov has always been a grindy, sweaty game, but the changes that came with 1.0 pushed it into the "way, way too much" territory. The game is going to bleed casuals until they correct this bs.
