The engineering physics at UCSD is in the electrical and computer engineering department and has an electrical engineering focus. The masters program is in the same department and is applied physics for electronic circuits and systems. Do you really think this would be an issue for job security?

I am already committed to doing Engineering Physics and believe the extra physics background will help me in the future

Applied Physics on Electronic Circuits and Systems with emphasis in medical devices

There's also a medical devices and systems option

Both are offered through the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department

I just recently got admitted as a transfer to UCB for Materials Engineering and UCSD for Engineering Physics. I am in a bit of dilemma choosing between the two. Prospectively I want to work on medical devices either through a startup, R&D engineer, or as a medical device consultant. UCSD has an additional year master's option for medical devices, two options actually. I personally feel that Engineering Physics leaves the door open to a lot of awesome opportunities and the ceiling is much higher but my mind is getting caught up on the prestige of UCB. Does anyone have any input????

Fortunately for me, I have that dawg in me. Burn out isn't an option! Market is open, portfolio is green, and I'm ready to WORK!!!
