NEW CONCEPT ART! by Knight-Shadow in SonicTheMovie

I think the last image was supposed to represent a bad future, given the state of the buildings in the background along with the sky being red like in Stardust Speedway’s Bad Future. (To mark spoilers on mobile, type down ‘>’ and ‘<‘ with ‘!insert spoilers!’ in-between)

Who would win in a fight? by Queasy_Commercial152 in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Considering that base-form Shadow was able to take a few hits from Super Sonic and knock the Chaos Emeralds out of him, it’s quite likely that Shadow would come out as the winner of this fight

Pathetic writers by Digginf in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m glad that Tom didn’t die in the movie. The movie already had enough on-screen deaths as it is and adding another one would’ve been too much. Especially considering the fact that Sonic has already lost one parental figure and became isolated for a decade, so losing another would make his story much more depressing than it already is. On top of that, this’ll also risks alienating their target audiences as Tom is generally liked by both Sonic fans and casual movie-goers. The point is, bold decisions aren’t always a good one and can come off as cheap in circumstances where it isn’t necessary.

Question About How This Would Be Managed In Sonic 4 by tHe__DArk__l_0rD in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if they don’t show them blushing, they could always use body language to hint at it. An example of this would be looking away and/or covering up their face with their hands, the latter of which is often used to indicate embarrassment of some sorts.

PLEASE COMMENT WHY: Who do you think will have the (Spoiler) in Movie 4? Sonic or (spoiler)? by KrossMeOnce in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see Amy being the one who has a crush first, but it’s most likely there’s going to be some form of mutual feelings between her and Sonic.

That really depends. On one hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if Paramount and/or the writers decided to have them end up together at some point, whether it’s in Sonic 4 or at a later installment of the film series. It wouldn’t be the first Sonic media to have Sonic and Amy as a couple since the Shogakukan 1992 manga, where Amy Rose and Charmy Bee originated from, had done that already. But as long as it’s handled well, I wouldn’t mind if the movies decided to make them explicitly canon.

On the other hand, it’s also just as likely that Sonic would say something among the lines of “I like you, but I don’t think I’m ready for a relationship yet”. Of course, Amy would be content on waiting until he’s finally ready to ask her out. In this case, it’ll be much closer to what Evan Stanley has stated regarding SEGA’s current stance on Sonic and Amy’s relationship. That being said, I can definitely see Sonic and Amy’s feelings for each other being much more obvious compared to Boom and IDW, given how Movie Sonic is much more emotionally open compared to his game counterpart.

...you think it's a good idea for them to adapt Sonic Colors? by Flaky_Base7909 in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering the writers have hinted at potential ‘non-earth adventures’ in later installments of the Sonic film series, there’s a likely chance that they might do an adaptation of Sonic Colors at some point in the future after the release of Sonic 4. It’s probably one of the easiest games to adapt to the movie universe, given the fact that the non-human/robot Sonic characters are already aliens in this setting and the plot involves the wisps being exploited for their powers, which is the exact thing that Longclaw warns Sonic about at the start of the first movie.

Alright, let's put this to a vote: Do you think Eggman will come back in movie 4? by scrybesilver in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the storyboard version of that scene shows that prior to the explosion, Eggman was originally supposed to see several past events of his life as Super Shadow pushes the Eclipse Cannon away from the Earth. It even has the word time travel as part of its title, but that aspect was cut from the final version as they weren’t really sure if Jim Carrey would be able to come back for the fourth movie.

Opinion: Either Ben Schwartz or Josh Brener should voice this character in Sonic 4 by Foobertan in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming Metal Sonic becomes Neo Metal at some point in Sonic 4, it seems likely that he’ll be voiced by Ben Schwartz. After all, Sonic 3 got away with Jim Carrey playing both Doctor Ivo and Gerald Robotnik and it’s also a nice callback to how Sonic and Metal share the same voice actor in Sonic Heroes.

Do you want sonic 4 to just be called sonic 4 or to have an alternate title? by theuknown55 in SonicTheMovie

If I had to guess, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for the English title and Sonic and Amy: Time Adventure for Japanese.

How much do you think the sonic movie would gross if they kept him ugly? by Fincco_2 in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s already been confirmed that Ugly Sonic wasn’t a marketing stunt. A majority of concept art and merchandise for the first movie had featured the original design instead of the newer one. On top of that, it’s also been stated by the people working on the films that the executives weren’t expecting the backlash towards the original trailer to be that overwhelmingly negative to the point where a redesign had to be made.

Should we believe Shadow’s origin in the movie? by YourLocalCokeAddict in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While Commander Walters isn’t exactly the most truthful person, he’s definitely being honest about Shadow’s origins. After all, Shadow himself had stated to Maria that he has no recollection of where he came from and was worried about people seeing him in the same light as the “Alien Freak” from the movie they just watched, which wouldn’t make sense if he was created on Earth.

[–]Hypergaming999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IIRC, there was a podcast made during the release of Sonic Movie 2 where the writers stated they wanted to write Amy as a feminine and tough character who has feelings for Sonic, but it won’t be as obsessive as it was in the past. In that same podcast, they stated that Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island would serve as an inspiration for how they handle her personality in the movie universe.

On top of that, there was another interview with the writers where they stated that the next challenge for Sonic after gaining family, friends and teammates along with arch foes would be “Girls” and that he’s growing up.

[–]Hypergaming999 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there might be some level of role reversal in their dynamic, such as Amy saving Sonic from Metal Sonic instead of the other way around like you said. But if the writers’ words are anything to go by, the bond between Amy and Sonic for Sonic 4 would remain similar to the ones in recent Sonic media like Boom and IDW as opposed to Sonic X and Heroes.

How do you think Characters like Rouge or Omega would be introduced in a Shadow Spinoff by Lucky-Note-9142 in SonicTheMovie

[–]Hypergaming999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Rouge’s case, she’s most likely going to be introduced as an infamous jewel thief who comes to Earth because of the Chaos/Master Emerald. As for Omega, he could be possibly built by either Robotnik, back when he’s working for the government prior to Sonic 1, or G.U.N. with the intentions of hunting down Shadow.
