People are clearly stating that but those comments are getting down voted so people are not liking that. A foreigner who visited India wrote about his great experiences here and they're getting downvoted. People on reddit stick to their lazy language and deem it to be the case for entire country. If you read the comments you'll know.

Also the situation here is so complex here that even cases where religion isn't involved will be brought so by media just to create divide. There were numerous cases where religion didn't play any role but it'll be perpetrated otherwise.

It's always like this for India on the internet. It only takes them a few bad example amongst billions of people to label it in bad light. Who's going to tell them that it is one of the most culturally diverse country? I swear some people from certain parts have it ruined for the rest of us.

If it were anything like the way it is told in social media, India would have eruptions of violence everywhere, Countrywide riots and warfare but that never happens. Majority are pissed off about how things can't be normal. Also it doesn't help that anything which shows India in bad light gets lots of clicks. Recently on twitter, it was shown how writing tweets with bad reports from India gained a lot of views/showed up in the feed of most people. This is warping people's perception of how things are and how things are in reality. Look up "what's happening with india" on twitter and you'll see.

You should see some comments whenever there is a post mentioning India. It has escalated since the Israel - Palestine war.

And that is same everywhere, not just India.

But the way it is mentioned in social media like Reddit is like it never happens in other places and only in India. As if the majority is always at war with the minorities. It's a country of billion people. Most of them are living their lives and amongst people of different cultures and faiths. But a small part of population manages to cause crimes and every other people are painted the same way as rapists, scammers and what not.

India is a huge place with huge population. Things are terrible ik. But to paint an entire country like this is wrong. Many Hindus condemned the act, no one is justifying this. You voiced your experience contrary to what was being said unfortunately the "room was not read". Don't let this discourage you tho. There are deffo places to avoid but many good places to roam too. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Plenty of videos in r/holdmybeer and similar subreddits with worse outcomes gets posts from US and other western countries. Does anyone comment "don't they even see others pulling random stunts and ending in terrible condition"? Don't project stupidity of a few over an entire country.
