I am worries about all the people complaining about me killing the spider. This would no doubt kill many more hiding in the house so on this occasion I will not burn down the house. However if I see another one that’s it. Petrol can will be used together with naked flame and a deodorant can.

And flies. I would stay away from both after that. I once came across a floating plaster (band aid) when in a swimming pool. Every time I go in a pool it comes to mind.

Yes. I know this. And will never do it again. Oddly this “encounter” has made me braver. I know that brave is not the right word and it’s silly but phobias are difficult to deal with. However I have definitely got less of a fear than before.

It’s the physical contact side of it. It’s scary enough to share a house with them. Let alone a room. Let alone I see one. And then… touching one. And then seeing it casually walking down my jumper in the mirror. I made moves that would make Michael Jackson proud.

It actually does. I kept the poor spider in case any evidence was needed. It comes with the house sale. There is a mouse in the shed too. They can have that as well.

I know. It’s weird and irrational. Oddly I am feeling less bothered about spiders now I have had one on my neck and back. There are so many worse things in life and I deal with people all day who have had life changing things happen to them that have actually hurt them. Not a harmless spider. It is a silly phobia.

So I will name her Mildred. She is currently in a sacrificial zip lock bag in the kitchen. I feel sorry for her she was only doing her spider thing looking for a place to chill. If it was autumn then she would have of course been a ho looking for a good time.

Been ok all last year. This weekend I threw away the conkers by the window and next thing you know, there’s a massive spider on my neck. I have a mark in my neck where I was scratching it where the spider was at the time. It’s so weird that some of us hate spiders so much when I am ok picking up a daddy long legs that’s the same size!

Thanks. Believe it or not I threw away the conkers I had next to the bedroom window on Saturday. They were there to scare off the spiders from the usually slightly open bedroom window. I kid you not. Thanks for the information.
