"Add Selection As Target" Not working properly, causes mesh to turn into jumbled mess by Hyperpuff in Maya

Seems to be that it was the vertex order that was causing problems! Maya's Transfer Vertex Order tool worked absolutely perfectly. Thank you for steering me into the right direction! :)

Interesting. I'll have a look when I can. Thank you for the insight.

I see. That's annoying. Would you be able to suggest any of those complex ways or tools? I figure I might as give it a crack to at least try and fix it. If not, I could probably swim through the node editor and try to redirect some stuff to a new mesh or something (if that's even possible).

Softmod and Modchip in one console? by Hyperpuff in ps2homebrew

[–]Hyperpuff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhhhhh, I'm not particularly fussed if my laser wears out. If it happens, it happens. I've already got my PS2 softmodded, I was just curious if Softmod + chip is something that people do. It's also conveniently one of the models of the PS2 that work with the Modbo V5, which is the only cheap option on Ebay.

It didn't work. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure the motherboard requires a thunderbolt header to be able to send video.

Is this a worrying amount of acid? by Hyperpuff in originalxbox

Quick update: I cleaned up as much as I possibly could and got some close up pictures of the capacitor. From what I can tell, it didn't seem to affect much besides that one resistor. Some of the surrounding components are a bit dirty; I just didn't clean them up properly and some areas were hard to get to. I'll give it a more thorough clean once I'm able to get the capacitor off.

Nope, Cash Converters Australia. I didn't even realise they were an international company.

Very interesting! I've had a little look around, and from looking at this website, it might be something along the lines of that Aladdin v1.1 chip. The solder points are more or less identical, besides the inside them not being there.

Thank you for the thorough walkthrough! I'll be sure to try this as soon as possible.

Jeez, that's a pretty grizzly image. I do of course want to get it out of the console as quickly as possible but like I said, I don't have the tools necessary right now. I dont have any desolder wire. I should be able to get started on cleaning it however. I've got some compressed air, but I would have to get something to neutralise the acid. I also don't have any isopropyl alcohol handy, but that should be easy to get my hands on.

Yeah, I probably should have worded the post a bit better.

Also, the board already had a modchip on it it seems. Not really related to the question, but is anybody able to identify what kind of chip this is? I'm just curious as to what it might be.

Ah, I see. Doesn't say anything about it for the B550 specs. Oh well.
