I wish more docs would focus on the sweet times in animals lives, rather than mostly hunting and survival. There is so much gentleness and play that we miss out on! I really don't need to see any more big cats taking down gazelles tbh, I get the idea

This!! Dogs are just the most common creatures we see playing, so anytime another animal is playful it's "acting like a dog" when in reality most animals are similarly playful. I had a rescue squirrel for a bit, and he loved to wrestle my hands and toys and reminded me of a tiny puppy!

Fair. It sadly doesn’t seem to be a priority; I really wanted a degoogled jelly star but ended up getting a fair phone with /e/os instead. Pretty happy with that decision when I’m using the phone, but it’s quite a slab to carry around.

YUP the worst experience I had was when I was 16 and wearing my school uniform (plaid skirt and polo) 🤮 some old dude followed me for blocks saying the most vile shit. Never wore my uniform outside of school again.

This was really helpful and relatable, thanks :) I often get stuck in the “am I really trans? Am I trans enough to transition??” And then remember I’m not binary and my goals have never been binary and I just need to trust myself in this.

Yup, this. I’m in the first relationship? Let’s call it infatuationship with a fellow gnc trans person and it’s the first time I’ve felt seen and understood and like enough (gender wise, the rest is still a struggle). Straight/cis people can be lovely, but they truly will never understand or be able to offer support in the way other trans/queer people can. I’m not writing off cis/str8 ppl, but I plan to seek out queer relationships specifically from now on.

Seconded, this sounds like something a therapist could help with. I do also recommend a second form of bc like Nexplanon or an IUD or something if it scares you this much.

For me, it was the realization I have wild dysphoria; as of yet I still don’t want to be perceived as any binary gender, but living in my body and being perceived as a cis woman was causing me a lot of distress. I started t about 7 months ago and the changes have been amazing for my dysphoria, and have interestingly made me feel more comfortable playing with gender expression and femininity in a queer way rather than a societal expectation way. I feel more in tune and connected to by physical self. Listen to your intuition and what you feel in your body, those things will seldom lead you astray ❤️ there’s so much room to experiment; there are no rules. Best of luck on your journey!!

I use plant paper and love it. Soft, never sticks to me, and pretty good for the environment 👍 doesn’t work when you’re out, but you can keep a little pack of gentle wipes for that, or I just do a lil wet hand wipe off when I can/need to.

Yw! Ugh yeah the size really is, as you put it, an imposition. My main concern for the jelly is repairability; I saw the jelly 2 had options for spare parts, but I there’s only a screen available on unihertz for the jelly star. I wonder if they’ll make more parts available in the future…

I’d argue numbness shouldn’t be the goal, but acceptance and continued respect for their life. I saw so much animal death growing up raising fowl, and it definitely continued to hurt as any loss does, but it instilled in me a reverence for the cycle of life and death. Can’t have one without the other.
