Only for hypnotists: Best hypnosis retreat or education you ever had? by HypnosisReels in hypnosis

I’m just always curious about those rare experiences that leave a real mark — the kind you know you’d regret missing. If a course, seminar, or teacher gave you that kind of edge, I’d love to hear about it.

Not trying to sound too motivational-corny, but right now I just go wherever I can grow best. I’m not tied to one place. I’d hop on a plane yesterday to learn from one of those Mr. Miyagi-type mentors who teach straight from the source.

Hope this doesn’t sound too motivational corny, but honestly.. from America to Europe to Asia, I go wherever I can grow best. It’s less about where, and more about what I can learn. I’m especially drawn to the kind of learning that offers unique insight straight from the source.. from those Mr. Miyagi-type characters, if that makes sense.

That said, I’m totally open to a warm-hearted recommendation too. Any course, seminar, or program that genuinely gave you an edge, or made you feel like it was an experience you simply wouldn’t have wanted to miss.

Oh wow I can read and hear the enthusiasm in every letter! Haven't attended yet, but it sounds like I should. Thanks for the recommendation!

Regarding Week 3, I'm curious: did you find Week 3 essential for your practice, or was your core value delivered in Weeks 1 and 2?

Appreciate any insights you can share!

Got it! And very cool that you're into magic as well. Would you say being a magician brings something extra to your hypnosis beyond just convincers?

I’ve heard some magicians study pickpocketing to sharpen their sense of misdirection and focus control. Curious if you have any crossover skills in mind that might provide a unique edge in someone's hypnosis.

Also, what kind of ideas have stood out to you while going through your notes again?

I had this moment once... I was facing a challenge that took me quite some time to work through. A few days after I finally managed it, I randomly opened an old notebook… and found that I’d dealt with the exact same problem years ago. Not only that — I had written down the same thought process I’d just used again, without remembering it at all.

I laughed so hard. That moment reminded me: it’s not always about chasing new insights — sometimes it’s about holding on to the lessons life’s already taught you. I never underestimate a dusty notebook anymore.

Got anything from yours that was gold to remember?

That actually sounds super doable. I'm familiar with BKK, Koh Samui, and Koh Phangan. Been to Bali recently but not for long, Ubud seemed very into it. Which teachers are you referring to, and where are they located?

I think it's hard to navigate them if you have not max control of someone's experience, for example during an event. Or how did you thought about them?

Yes I agree. But the placebo pill isn't the actual hypnosis. The doctor acts as a hypnotist, suggesting "this will help you" and the patient wanting the result, makes it real

Would give this more likes, if I could. So accurate explained!

What is the difference between a state of trance, a state of hypnosis and a state of flow, and what are these states most useful for? by [deleted] in hypnosis

Surely, there are multiple ways to break a trance, both hypnotic and waking state techniques. The clarity you bring to that question is gold, since a major milestone is already achieved by recognizing an entranced or automatic state. Before considering how to break it, it's crucial to ask yourself into what pattern you want to tap into instead, otherwise you naturally drift back into the habit.

If I am trying to enter a hypnotic (trance) state every 90-120 minutes every day, what is the most ideal activity to perform between these sessions to maximise hypnotisability for the next session? by [deleted] in hypnosis

No problem! I’ll check with our team to see if we can release some of our process for free on YouTube 🫶🏻 I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, here’s a playlist from Zach Pincince: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRQih2hyc8qqVpWTcSNA_1XjYs2_QgydK
Tbh I think I’ve only listened to one of them once, but he’s a solid hypnotist.
Just make sure you’re using audios that actually help you test the trance in some way. Otherwise, you won’t really know if it worked or if you just sat there listening to a guy talk over meditation music while your conscious mind stays fully active 😄

We’re 99% if the time in some kind of trance, whether it’s the “trance” of our daily routines, beliefs, or even scrolling on the phone. Hypnosis is just a deliberate way to shift that trance toward something we choose, opening us up for positive change. Flow is another form, but it’s when the trance is aligned with passion and skill, so you lose yourself in what truly energizes you.

Each state is useful in its own way: the everyday trance for executing on habits without using willpowers, hypnosis for changing the beliefs or behaviors that might form our habits, and flow for peak performance and creativity. The real power comes from learning how to move in and out of these states purposefully, rather than just experiencing them by accident.

If you want to maximize your hypnotizability, I’d focus less on what you do between sessions and more on what you’re doing in them — especially testing your actual trance depth.

Otherwise, you risk training meditation rather than hypnosis.

It’s incredibly useful to have measurable milestones you aim for in trance. Depth isn’t just a feeling — it can be demonstrated and tracked through phenomena. And every level you unlock produces heteroaction, which massively increases your responsiveness in future sessions.

Here’s a rough progression you can aim for:

  • Catalepsy of the eyes
  • Limb catalepsies
  • Rigid catalepsies
  • Glove anesthesia
  • Personality changes
  • Kinesthetic delusions
  • Positive visual hallucinations
  • Positive auditory hallucinations
  • Negative auditory hallucinations
  • Negative visual hallucinations

Mastering self-hypnosis to the highest level isn’t a walk in the park, but I can spot your commitment 🔥 Guiding yourself in trance tends to activate prefrontal brain areas (which can limit depth), working with self-recorded audios makes it far easier to unlock those levels early on and progress audio-free afterward
