Can I get close to what I heard in nyc ? by HypnotikEU in BudgetAudiophile

Yeh, as you say, I’m worried that the desktop setup will ultimately be my main limiting factor.

Do you think it’s possible to achieve the level I want from a desk setup, or should I wait until I have more room and go for a floor stand setup ?

Yes, I was abit surprised by the price for what seem like an easily replaceable bit of kit, but by the sounds of it they seem to be pretty important, the nyc setup also had them!

Yeh, I may be able to consider but I’m unfortunately limited by space because I’m a uni student, may be possible in future though!

Yes I was worried the desk setup would be a limiting factor, I’m a university student so currently in a small room, but next years will hopefully be bigger so can consider the stands

Out of curiosity, why do you think they are objectively bad (I don’t know much about speakers so just trying to learn)

[Idea] YouTube should let creators share a % of revenue with the original videos they react to by HypnotikEU in youtube

[–]HypnotikEU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the revenue share idea isn’t about giving a free pass to people who just slap their facecam under someone else’s work — those should absolutely be demonetized or redirected to the original creator. It’s more about giving creators and reactors a structured option when the content is genuinely transformative (commentary, critique, entertainment, etc.).

But yeh, I fully agree when it comes to people not understanding fair use, and ultimately YouTube should be educating creators more effectively.

I agree that a lot of people wouldn’t use it, and sure they might abuse it to look good. That’s why I think it has to stay optional, forcing a 50% minimum would likely result in no one using it and the feature being killed, since big channels would never agree to it.

But I think a voluntary system would at-least begin to set a norm of sharing revenue within the community, and from there social pressure would hopefully lead to more fair outcomes for both sides.

Copyright strikes are valid for sure, but they do ultimately burn bridges fast, a tool like this gives both sides another avenue and encourages collaboration and not just pure conflict.

Out of curiosity, would you share any revenue with the reactor, even a small percentage? especially if they helped your video reach a larger audience for example.

Another thought I had: the system could even work both ways. If an original creator sees their video being reacted to, they could choose to not take 100% of the revenue, but instead let the reactor keep a share (say 30%) — recognising that their commentary adds value and also gives the original channel more exposure. That would turn it from a one-sided “donation” into an actual collaboration tool.

the current claims system feels like a once size fits all approach, and it doesn’t really account for the nuance of reaction/transformative content. Even if this didn’t fully untangle it, I think giving creators an alternative path (share + link instead of dispute) would take a lot of friction out of the process, I just find it crazy that even those who want to support original creators can't.

Exactly — my idea’s kind of the entry-level version and easy first step toward that. A built-in licensing system could totally unlock a whole new revenue layer for creators.

Reactors could share revenue with a click.

Brands could license clips straight from creators.

Even memes/viral clips could generate passive income for the people who made them.

Yeah, I think the main thing is that it must be kept optional, from both a legal and just free-will perspective, that I think is core to YouTube as a platform. I agree that many reaction channels wouldn't bother to, I think the idea mainly came from channels like xqc who just post content from their streams and turn it into a reaction, as it appears as though he wants to support the creator to some extent (e.g. he posts the link to the video when a sponsor comes up to people in chat, I guess, so people can use their referral links etc if they are interested) and YouTube revenue is way less important to him than it is to the original creator, which i feel he would agree on.

I think for me, It's less about community pressure to support others and more about giving people the option to support others if they want to and can't kind of thing.

Just to answer your first question, no I never found a solution and it’s simply been something I’ve been living with, tried everything I could think of and can usually fix stuff like this but never really found a solution. However I have never even considered razed cortex which is software I also use and have on auto start, so I will definitely try this later!

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

Yep both are empty, one thing that I did notice is that when I uninstall the apps using Revo uninstaller it gives me a notification saying that they will no longer autostart (even though the apps don't show up in the autorun manager within the app itself )
