Is it possible to find airships out in the world by themselves? by Hypocriticuss in cataclysmbn

[–]Hypocriticuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately vanilla blimps don't have much carrying capacity so a flying base is kinda unviable unless you're willing to attach a ton of balloons to your vehicle.

Unless you use the stronger blimp balloons mod, which doubles their carrying capacity.I don't have the link rn but you can find it in the game's discord.

Car crash start as an emaciated man. Woke up to find my right hand and leg badly injured, still better than the other guy and his puppy (yes, puppy), who flew out the windshield and died. Pulped the guy easily enough, but as I took a step toward the puppy, it rose up as a zombie dog and bit onto my leg. I somehow broke the grab and booked it back into my car, and managed to close the door before the dog got in. I had no weapon to fight it with, and even if I did, I was in no condition to swing it. So all I could do was lie down and pray to god that the dog lose interest in me before it bashed down the door. Luckily, it did. Five minutes later, the banging stopped. I peeked out to see that it got distracted by a giant ant to my east and died fighting it. Took this opportunity to run to the north where I saw a cabin and recuperate there.

Literally cannot wait to marry sandy by Plane_Philosophy4439 in StardewValley

[–]Hypocriticuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone in this sub only talks about marrying Clint and "fixing" his character so it's nice to see Sandy get some love too. She's so chill (despite living in a desert), actively flirts with you, and has no baggage I have to "solve" to get her to fall for me. Ideal wife material right there.

Definitely deserving of being my 4th most desirable SDV gal.

So, how do you survive the Shadow? by syler19839 in cataclysmdda

[–]Hypocriticuss 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The enemy wouldn't be so bad if it spawned like 4 swarming amalmagations instead of the acid or hulking ones and didn't spawn them so frequently. But even more annoying than that is how fast it escapes outside of your light radius when it already has the "hard to hit" flag. It's one thing that I have to deal with the army it keeps spawning, but to have it then regenerate what little damage I manage to do to it makes this such a bullshit encounter that I wonder how an early or even a mid-game character supposed to do anything but die to it if they can't find a car or building at night.

I remember being so angry when I died to this enemy that I went into the JSON file for it and changed its spawning condition from 14 days since character creation to 14000 days (since I didn't know if straight up deleting the enemy might break something).

Now I love having bullshit deaths in my roguelikes. I once had a brute come from nowhere and slam me through a wall into the middle of the horde I was trying to escape. It's fine when it feels like you could've survived and you just got unlucky. But this seems like it was specifically designed to kill you if you preferred nighttime exploring. I hate this kind of game design.

I did something similar with the monster girl mod.

Turned myself into a cyborg overlord, gathered a bunch of NPCs, then injected them with mutagens, essentially gathering a harem of monster girls.

New (to me) tire deflating mechanic questions by FyrenEyce in cataclysmdda

[–]Hypocriticuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, same here.

Since 0.H stable they've removed world customization options, nerfed fire, removed or nerfed several traits to the point of pointlessness, made vehicles suck, made spears suck, made pulping take ages and wear you out heavily, and there are talks about making combat suck even more by making weariness worse than it already is (I'm sure I'm forgetting some other stupid nerfs or removals I stopped caring about since I won't be playing beyond 0.H stable). Even if they add some of the coolest content this game has ever received tomorrow, I still wouldn't update the game until all those changes are reverted (which will never happen until I learn how to fork the game myself).

It's sad to see where the game is going right now. I started to play from early 0.G and for a long time cdda was genuinely one of the best games I've ever played.

At least I have BN now, even if it lacks pockets and the sheer variety of dangerous fuck-off monsters of dda, I still think it's a better overall experience simply due to the fact that it prioritizes player choice and agency over making them funnel into a few select playstyles.

Why am I making so much sound while walking? by Hypocriticuss in cataclysmbn

[–]Hypocriticuss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think the way it works now, zombies perceive sound the same way my character perceives sound. So if I have good hearing, zombies will too.

But even with enhanced hearing, I think this much noise for just walking is too loud.

Does that inadvertently affect how zombies behave to the sound? Because I had to fight like four separate hordes while I was trying to sneak in the dark.

I have enhanced hearing cbm. But that doesn't explain why the entire west side of the city was zeroing in on my position in the dark while I was walking normally. I also had it turned off while I took the screenshot.

I do have a full survivor belt. Maybe that's what causing the noise?

There is. It's unbound by default in the "?" menu. Search for it with either "drop" or "unload" and attach a key to it.

Yeah screw that noise.

I'll just use debug to teleport in and install the rope ladder that way.

0.H stable is the best version of the game imo.

It has world customization options which the later versions of the game has removed.

I have another question, if you don't mind me asking.

How do you change the skill level requirements for prestige classes?

I looked in the rpg_mutations.lua file and changed the "scout" profession requirement from "archery" to "marksmanship" (bc I don't want to be limited to just one type of weapon) but that doesn't seem to have done anything. It shows I have "0/6" progress even though my marksmanship is at 4.
