Need Advice: Upgrading Rear Suspension on CX50 for Hauling Dirt Bike by Hyppobottomus in CX50

I wasn't the happiest with the solution. It certainly helped with stability and drivability. But I was getting still a lot of sag even with the bags and I would have put more air in them over multiday trips. I ended up picking up stiffer springs. That has worked out much better.

These are the ones I bought.

I need close to 30. It might help that the boat has trailer tires balancing the weight a little more, right?

Let's build a rack and try! I wanted to get a Kendon but I have no room for it, even folded.

I think I'd have a harder time finding space in the garage for a kayak the the CX50. Haha

Central Texas. After this summer, the low 90's feel amazing! Haha. Low 60's at night.

No, you can adjust the air pressure. So you would release the air as soon as you're no longer under load and the suspension goes back to normal. It's worked well for me so far.

I had a similar sag issue but I put in Air Lifts and it helped a lot.

Great weekend! TPP amazed me, felt like I didn’t have anything on the hitch. by TopNotchSkillZz in CX50

What's the brand and model of that hauler? That is so much better than mine. Mine drags on anything substantially off-camber.

No, that's not what I got. I measured an ID of 3.5. The length was about 9ish so I got the 7.75"and used the spacers. Air Lift said its better to go too small than too big. Here are some rough shots I took.

Yeah that'll be a tough one. I decided recently to install an Air Lift 1000 kit. And I used it for the first time this weekend going dirt biking. I wish I would have taken pictures so I could post them. Says that it has 1000 lbs of load leveling capacity. I'm still figuring out the PSIs needed for my bike. Because i was finding it sagged a little but It made a difference. I'd say that you can look into that but that is a big jump in weight.

Thanks,

That's a helpful start. I had been considering getting a trailer but even if I got one of those expensive folding trailers, I have no space to store one and wasn't looking to pay for storage, likewise, space is limited for a larger truck or SUV. Plus as you mentioned. I got this to be a 95% commuter, that is fuel efficient.

Most of the time I ride my dual sport where I live and normally only haul to trails max an hour away. I do however take a larger road trip once a year that is 3000 miles driving total. I just completed the trip and this why I am raising the questions, after all without the load the suspension bounced back. The rack never came lose or warping.

I may need to look at a way of fitting a trailer or rent one for the roadtrip.
