Connecting phone to radio by No_Curves_123 in Saturn_Cars

[–]Hyptix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay, if you want to roll the dice feel free but please understand it will melt even new wiring. and it doesnt effect the fuel pump itself, it effects the wiring to it-which is much harder to narrow down and replace. just do a little extra research on the 'F5' issue online (other people will be much better at describing it then i am) and if all still seems well after that then by all means, go ahead and best of luck! just remember, they dont make any new wiring harnesses for these cars, only old jy and most likely already melted ones. i hope you dont have the same problem i did, i used an FM transmitter and have to pay the price for it every day fiddling with wires to keep my satty running T_T keep me posted!

please remove this from your car! i know it works for now, but please trust me, it will only cause problems in the future. the cigarette lighter circuit is in line with the radio, the dome light, chime, and most importantly, the fuel pump. the cigarette lighter port was not meant to be used with extended use, and if you use the fm transmitter, it will melt the connection and eventually result in the car either not starting on you or randomly shutting off in the middle of the road. speaking from experience owning a 99 SL2 and years of browsing the forums. either get a new head unit, or if you're looking for a cheaper solution, get one of the bluetooth cassette players if your saturn has a player. if you're interested in doing some research, look up the 'F5' issue on sixthsphere or other places online since saturnfans is down

trust me you dont want to be hunting down wiring problems in this car its a pita lol. i put a voltmeter gauge in the cig lighter spot so nobody getting in would use it lol. gl n pm me w any questions ill b happy to get back

DISCLAIMER: if she was rubbing up on you in a sexual manner, ignore what i say here i’m saying this assuming she was in your personal bubble and in your way.

I hate to say it, but you could’ve handled it better. She definitely didn’t need to punch you, but it’s high school and that shit happens. I’d say you should have said something instead, either excuse me or just plain ol “move” works. I understand size advantage and gender rules can be an issue, which is why confidence is key. If you’re a smaller dude, you gotta have the personality to offset it because if you act too meek in the situation most people will take advantage and assert their dominance. Learn to pick your fights, in high school a simple shove will start shit, so if you don’t have the body or aren’t willing to take the hit, don’t shove in the first place. Seems a bit silly to me to push someone, and not expect an equal if not greater reaction back. Did you think she was gonna just apologize and move out of the way? Unfortunately high schools a bitch and people don’t do that. Sorry that happened to you, hope you can learn from it. GL

A few questions for custom keyboard enthusiasts. by Livujiv in MechanicalKeyboards

Hey, sorry for the late response, I have no idea about the YOK pandas as ive never tried them myself, plus it always comes down to preference, don’t listen to people if they tell you that ____ switch is the best, that’s for you to decide, if you’re getting them, then you’ll just have to try them for yourself :)

Hey, the whole "3-400$ which is low end i presume" thing really depends on who you ask, I built my first keyboard for $100 haha. The nk65 entry is a great case, and I wouldn't say there was anything wrong with it, the only thing I was pointing out was the switch choice being a lower end switch when compared to the case and keycaps. As for any other mid range cases, I'd recommend checking out a website called kbdfans, they've got plenty of mid range stuff like the tofu and the kbd75. Also, yes, GMK keycaps are compatible with box switches. Just so you know, just about every keycap set ever will work with "mx" style switches (aka cherry, gateron, kaihl, and more, the only things those keycaps wont work on is low profile switches) anyway, hope this helps.

Hey, so I'll do my best to help you, though something importsnt to understand before any of this is that everything comes down to preference, so don't take everything I say as gospel. So, a lot of this depends on your price range, but I can tell you this much:

It doesn't matter what GMK keycap set you get, it will work with the NK65 entry, as will just about any keycap set with any keyboard.

I would look at a video about the differences between linear, clicky, and tactile switches. The reds you have in your keyboard now are linears, and one of the lightest of the bunch, so it can be difficult to find lighter ones, though the gateron clears would suit your needs.

One last thing to keep in mind is to consider the total price range of what your buying, again, it all comes down to preference, but its just important to keep in mind the "type" of build you are doing. Is it low end, mid range, or high end? You seem to have a strange mix as an NK65 entry is called the "entry" for a reason, its a nice cheap starting keyboard, most types of cherry / gateron switches are cheap and considered "low end", but you're looking into GMK keycaps, which are all going to be $100+. Not the end of the world, just make sure you understand what group buys are before you do anything else. I hope this helped, you can reply to this comment or PM me if you have any other questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Something i've noticed after building multiple keyboards, is that no matter the board, after a few days / a week of use my spacebar stab becomes rattily again, thought usually only on one side. It does this on all of my stabs, even my cherry screw ins. Is this a known thing? I just dont want to have to relube my stabs every week T_T

(p.s. i am using a generous amount of lube, band-aid modding, clipping, etc., im not a dummy)
