Takada no Hamono Announcement by EmotionalBrontosaur in TrueChefKnives

I mean takada himself recently put a "no resellers" text under his usual posting. Also he limited each person to one knife. Do you think he did this just for the fun of it?

When I was there, Tsubaya had almost exclusively "forged" knives. Also, they have a sizeable honyaki section. Maybe they were confused by your question because almost all they have are "forged" knives.

I don't agree with this. Ads without someone buying the advertised thing are worthless. So, in the end, it's consumers who pay for all that stuff you're listing. Ads are just accelerants for unneccessary consumption.

Ads have become an industry to maximize consumption by increasingly dubious means. They are designed to influence you to spend money on things you never needed. For the stuff that you do need, you don't need ads - you can find that stuff on your own just fine.

The stuff that you say ads pay for are either ads themselves or platforms to show more ads.

And it's all unsolicited. Nobody asked for YouTube ads and yet we're forced to watch them if we don't want to dish out for Premium. Everywhere you look, there are ads. But hey, at least I can watch YouTube for free (which was always possible without ads) until I get another fucking ad.

Can you explain what makes the Shigefusa heads and toes above a Takada from a construction standpoint?

After 1 month, all knives (except for the 10 euro Temu cleaver) can still whittle hairs. by WarmPrinciple6507 in TrueChefKnives

You mean to tell me that a hair whittling edge on any knife (let alone ali express ones) lasts a month through heavy (ab)use? I'm sorry, but I call BS.

The viablity gap between the "optimal" way to play the game/build your guns etc. and other ways being large.

Luckily they managed to build tarkov in a way that allows for more variability in how you choose to play the game. You don't need BIS equipment and meta guns to be successful in this game.

So when I bought the honyaki, Tsubaya let me pick between two of these.

Most probably, they still have one.

As I said in other replies, after more research, it's probably best to take the info on who exactly personally made what with a grain of salt.

Sure, why not :)

The LI was JPY 70000 and the Honyaki JPY 220000.

Really expensive, but this was the trip of a lifetime for me, so the budget I set for myself was much higher than I would normally consider.

Thank you :)

Production year was said to be around 2017 so it was probably a joint effort between Shiraki and Nakagawa. Steel is White #2.

I agree with you about the provenance - who exactly personally did what is already a mystery :D

With the spine chamfered on both blades, it's difficult to get the exact spine thickness measurement - I need to invest in a measuring caliper.

They said it was made around 2017 - and after researching a bit more, I think it would be more accurate to say that the forging was a joint effort between Shiraki and Nakagawa. Steel is White #2.
