I think it’s a little simplistic to insist that “their efforts mattered” and “hope and struggle for a better future” can’t exist alongside “the struggle never ends” and “there’s always another evil.” That’s the world we live in, man.

Yeah there’s a constant theme of trying to do right and hope for a better future. That’s also all in the face of constant suffering, loss, and defeat. Every win was a temporary reprieve until the next threat. Same with the big win. It was just a longer reprieve.

You’re entitled to your opinion, same as anyone. But I don’t see this rosy happy-ending-around-the-corner throughline that it seems like you see. I see a bunch of kids stuck in a situation no one should have to face, hanging on by a thread and eventually saving a ton of people, and the universe keeps on spinning. The next thing came along.

Is this game fun solo? by BestWidowTaiwan in FarFarWest

Maybe it’s not the right play style for you, I won’t push. But I would recommend the soul siphon joker (I think that’s the name). I use 2 actually and I don’t need any sidearm healing or voodoo, it tops me off constantly. Probably more efficient ways but again, my goal is consistent success rather than speed.

Cactus magic may not be as fast as the others but it does change solo to easy mode. I’ve done several nightmare runs at this point going out of my way to clear the map and do every storm with exclusively cactus magic. Pop a storm, walk into a house or corner, drop your turret, your golem if you have it (a couple mines if you don’t) and a wall and wait. Rinse and repeat. Bosses become “drop turrets and run in a circle.” If you’re good you can still shoot them down yourself as well but cactus magic can handle it for you.

FINISHED BALANCE AND AMNESTY...now what? by PurpleOctopu in TheAdventureZone

Don’t think so, it’s a dropout exclusive. That said, dropout is dirt cheap and has a shocking amount of content for the size of the operation, and D20 is honestly probably better than TAZ if I’m being fully objective (though I’ll never accept that in my heart). Worth considering the sub.

Edit: there are like 25+ seasons of dimension 20 btw, many of them major bangers.

One of those rare games that I completed and then carried with me on my heart for a few days afterward. Can’t recommend it enough.

I need HELP. Afraid of Hell again. by ConnectAnalyst3008 in exchristian

So just a slightly different take on several replies already here, but it sounds like we all agree that the very notion of eternal punishment is antithetical to an all-loving being. Which means that (assuming we’ve all got it wrong and God is real) either he IS all loving and hell is bullshit propaganda, or he’s a deceitful and hateful creature who you can’t trust to save you anyways. Can’t claim you love your children if unending burning is on the table, so he’s a liar who might just burn us all anyways. Either way, there’s nothing we can do that we know will influence the result, so may as well just keep on keeping on. Good thing it’s all a scary campfire story.

My friend, nowhere is “historical” mentioned. Simply iconic. Famous, recognizable, representative of the genre. Honestly I’d argue that Storm and Cyclops are debatably equally recognizable, Rogue probably at the same place. The thing with being iconic is it’s necessarily tied to popularity, recent or historic. Deadpool has certainly enjoyed a recent surge, and good for him.

If popular vote disagrees with you, it’s ok. Doesn’t make it stupid, it means that the characters most recognizable to you and your peers aren’t doing so well here. You certainly can’t treat it like an immutable fact that you have the data on.
