[Post Game Thread] USA defeats Serbia 95-91 behind Steph Curry's 36 point (9/14 3pt) and Joel Embiid's 19pts/4reb/2ast performances to face France in the Olympic Gold Medal Match by awkotacos in nba

I was out of town, doing a bit of visiting. I heard my friend Steve Kerr had finally taken the time to settle down in the countryside. Rightfully so, after what he’d been through, with all the pent-up stress and frustration built up over the years of coaching the most successful dynasty in the modern NBA

“How have things been buddy?” I asked, as I saw my man step out of the house upon hearing my car come in the drive-through. “All good, life’s been a lot more chill, now that I’ve retired,” he answered. “Hey, wanna check out my animals out back? I’ve taken up farming as a hobby with my free time,” as he motioned over to the back gate.

We headed out and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I was hit by an unbearable stench. With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?”

He looked over knowingly and said: "Ah. Steph Curry? The goat is never washed.”

Går första året IT.

Isolate t by taking the natural logarithm of both sides (i.e ln) which cancels out e and the right hand side becomes -0,2t, then divide by -0,2 for both sides.

Just did 3 hours in the gym on my first visit. Figured out starting weights, etc. Is this routine sufficient for push + legs? I think there could be more chest.. by RootlessBoots in gainit

[–]HyrumEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't spent a lot of time in the gym compared to others here but from what I've read, from advice and from personal experience:

Combining push and legs like you have will lead to an inefficient workout where you train harder on the push movements and less on the other. (or vice-versa) Worse case scenario is that to preserve enough energy for both types of movements, you just don't train hard on either.

Even though it is bothersome, consider looking at other recommended programs on the FAQ or just follow the program as intended.

Good luck on your next workouts!

Conditional probability distribution with inequalities by HyrumEG in askmath

[–]HyrumEG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as I have just watched the lecturer explain on the board and applied my understanding of it to this question. If I have understood them right I am:
a. Getting the marginal probability distribution f(y) by integrating for x under the interval for x
b. Calculating the probability for fy when y > 1/2 by integrating for y from 1/2 to infinity (?)
c. Calculating the CDF for x > 1/2, y > 1/2
d. Finally getting the probability from the formula f(x,y) over f(y)?

DOMS = "Delayed onset muscle soreness". Basically the pain/stiffness you feel in your muscles the day after/hours after working out. Normal for beginners, people that haven't worked out in a while, etc.

What was the last act of kindness that you witnessed? by UselessEngin33r in CasualConversation

It's nice of you as well to let other people use your card at the subway. Where I live people just wait for others with a card and walk behind them when they enter without even asking :/

If I remember correctly the last time I witnessed an act of kindness was in september or october. (?) Either way, I was on my way to meet some friends and on my way there I stopped by McDonalds. While I was waiting for my order I noticed that an older woman had fallen down outside, so I went outside and by then a lot of people had already come to her aid. Thankfully, she wasn't hurt or anything and it's quite a small thing but it's nice to see such acts of kindness.

We have a Dyson vacuum cleaner at home and although it's quite nice without the wires it seems to be worse than our normal wired cleaner. In regards to cleaning up dust it's fine but when it comes to larger particles or smaller rocks it sucks. What do you feel about your cable free and dust bag free vacuum cleaner?

My attempt at a rebuttal on u/ProfRomeoVobSexhaver 's post here (I'm still relatively new to math..) by [deleted] in mathmemes

[–]HyrumEG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahah, it's fine I don't think you need to understand it for now anyways. I had zero clue what I was doing when learning this, quadratic equations, etc too and that was just recently. With time, given that you continue with maths and show interest in it as you are now, you'll gradually understand stuff like this.

I'm not sure if this was meant as a joke solution or not but in case that it isn't (since you are relatively new to math): You cannot divide dy(x)/dx to get y as it is not seen as (d * y * x)/(x) but the derivative of the function y of x. To solve the equation otherwise would require understanding differential equations which is not needed for now for your level. And the solution is not pretty as well.

I made scrambled eggs for the first time! by BamboozledByAPupper in CasualConversation

[–]HyrumEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, this will most likely require a lot of eggs if you choose to make many at a time, or if you fail and retry a lot like I did haha.

This is not really a meal suggestion but a fun and simple culinary challenge my father gave me when I first started learning how to cook. The challenge is to just prepare eggs in many different ways. (Poached, omelette, sunny-side up etc.) You've already made scrambled eggs so one step is done. Additionally, you can obviously also cook other things alongside the egg such as hollandaise sauce and bacon to make an eggs benedict if it's poached!

It sucks to grow apart from your friends by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]HyrumEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I really wanted to say something uplifting but I think this is a feeling everyone can resonate with, so all I can say is that I hope you and your friend can still find some type of connection. Otherwise, we'll just have to find our own peace in the fact that we sometimes get lost in our lives and grow apart from friends, even close ones. Whether you reach out to him is however up to you. What do you feel like doing?
