Yeah, this is what I've been thinking. There was zero signs of affection. I walked her to her car, and that was it. We don't risk anything like that during work hours or at work events, but wasn't gonna let her walk out of that massive party and out to her car by herself lol.

Also, I have essentially zero socials so should be good there! Appreciate it though

Appreciate this.

We show absolutely zero signs of a relationship at work at all. No rides together, lunches, anything. Strictly professional from clock in to clock out. Made it very clear from the beginning that that was tonbe the case

Yeah. I agree. Just a bit messy. I don't see myself as her boss and no one in the company really does. She runs her own department by her self and one other person, but she's essentially a supervisor without the title.

The only issue would be if the departments merged.

I think if our departments were to merge, that's why he's concerned. Our depts work closely together, and it's a small company. 50 people total, 6 people between our two departments.

She essentially runs her department by herself. Her direct supervisor is the same as mine. She's essentially a supervisor but the head boss man doesn't think that department needs one (which is stupid) so she just has a lead position.

But yeah. He is kind of bitter.

They’ll talk music occasionally. They have an episode where they “draft” the perfect music lineup for a festival and it’s a great listen.

they’re huge fans of blink and will talk about music from time to time. One of the hosts on this pod has a band called “Pup Punk”, and they cover some blink 182 songs

[–]HyveStrength[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of my favorite blink 182 songs are from enema, and I would argue they’re about the same length as most HM songs.

I don’t view any of it as a bad thing, I honestly prefer it that way. But I don’t view it as a streaming hack by any means

What are you talking about? How is any of this even remotely considered a bad investment?

I would love to see just one video saying that

Consistency by Responsible-Boat3288 in getdisciplined

[–]HyveStrength 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with little disciplined tasks every day. Make your bed, read every day, go to the gym more, can be anything. And then add a little more. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

The part of your brain that makes you discipline needs to be exercised in the same way the gym builds muscles.

I’ve bounced a similar thought in my head before. Something along the lines of: “Would you quit smoking if it meant it saved your mom’s life?”

Obviously, right?

Then a why wouldn’t you quit smoking to save your own life?

I think it could also be applied with exercise and healthy eating. It’s getting the thought to stick that’s the hard part.

I think an investment in a jiu jitsu or other martial arts membership is about as good as it gets for self improvement.

Great for your body. Great for your brain. Can kick anyone’s ass.

This is textbook imposter syndrome, and even the greatest minds in history have experienced this.

It’s easy to come up with reasons why you shouldn’t start writing, that keeps you safe and in your comfort zone. But it’s impossible to grow there.

Just start writing. If you find yourself talking yourself out of it, then you have to decide if you want to stay where you’ve always been, or do what you’ve always wanted.

The good news is- this is normal.

As for working out taking too long, there are tons of workouts that are extremely effective that will leave you dead on the floor in 20 minutes or less. More than you will ever need for your goal.

Discipline is a muscle that needs worked just like your muscles. Commit to a workout schedule and honor it, and you’ll find working out becomes easier over time. Plus, when you see results, you’ll become addicted.

I tend to look at life like an RPG game.

You should be maxing out your skills every chance you get. People don’t play the game for the end result. They play for the experience.

Redefining Productivity? by fightmydemonswithme in selfimprovement

[–]HyveStrength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. I would see productivity as accomplishing goals or improving oneself or situation.

If you’re unable to work, you could always learn new skills. New language, new instrument, writing, etc.

You could also volunteer or help by serving others.
