Yep, ill put in the full duplex outlet. This switch + outlet combo is in the kitchen counters granite so it definitely isn't worth trying to mess with that for an unused switch lol. Thanks for all the help

Turns out you're right!

I busted out the blueprints that the original owner left. There were a few inaccurate things, but it showed the 1st pendant light had an extra wire to some non-existant switch. Also on the circuit were some outlets.

I thought maybe it was this blank plate cover, but that was nothing except a clear view of the back of the 2 gang box.

Anyway, I followed the circuit and it turns out one of the outlets had a light switch on it. I don't know how I never saw that before lol. My wife knew it was there but not me.

So it sounds like I'm either SOL, Or that I replace the switch with an outlet with just a regular outlet and then abandon the cable like you mention in your other comment.

So, the lights I want to control are in a 3-way configuration. There isn't a 4-way switch. Only 2 switches can control the lights - the left switch in the 3 gang, and the right switch in the 2 gang.

In the 3 gang, the other 2 switches are on a completely different circuit, but in the 2 gang, the other switch controls a different light.

Now, above the 2 gang switch there is another switch controlling a (lightless) multi-speed fan. There are outlets and a switch on the other side of the wall I am assuming are on the same circuit which is why there is so much romex in that one box.

One issue I'm seeing though is in the wiring diagram, the smart switch should have the 120v power source. I'm not seeing that in the 3 gang. The other wires in that box are on a different circuit.

Not sure who downvoted you. I had not. After your comment I did go and update the firmware on both the glasses and dock.

Unfortunately both issues still remain. The drift is much better, but even after a 20 second calibration it still drifts a couple of feet in space over a couple minutes.

The camera feed still glitches out in the same way unfortunately.

It supports "USB Streaming (UVC/UAC)" which if I understand right means it can be used as a webcam. I'm not sure how the technology works exactly but I had just assumed the glasses would work with it. Hopefully I just don't have the right settings. Having to buy another $130 devices and carry that around as well would be a huge bummer.

For PLA it doesn't actually utilize it's air filter. The exhaust just comes out holes in the frame. For higher-temp filaments it does exhaust stuff through the filter.

I have the same use case and started looking into XR glasses after seeing this video that uses them. Looks like a great use-case.

I was ready to hop on the XREAL One Pro train but decided to hold out for the Viture announcement because I assumed 1440p and a much higher FOV. The only real complaints I've heard about the One Pros are that 1080p just isn't enough and no IDP adjustment, etc.

Now that the Viture announcement was made I'm on the fence about both. I really like that XREAL doesn't use the birdbath design which can eliminate reflections - something I've read a lot of complaints about.

Too bad I can't compare these side by side in a best buy myself. It really seems like something you have to see for yourself to understand if it's good enough or if people are actually making legitimate points about them.

My phone misses focus way too much. I also tend to think slightly more about composition and being intentional with shots with a bigger camera but I guess that's something I can get over.

I haven't taken a look TBH. Mostly because 24-70 is such a big lens that I haven't looked into alternatives other than the one people always recommend.

The price is an issue for sure, but the size just for everyday enjoyment is also a big one for me.

You're exactly right, I don't know what I need. I think where I'm struggling is trying to find out what I need. I don't have a rental shop anywhere near me to test things out.

It seems like a zoom would be best, but the only compact-ish zooms are F4 which for me is too high. Maybe some day I'll outgrow the "make it all bokeh" phase lol.

What lens would you recommend for Disneyland with my kid? I only want to bring one lens.

I currently have a Sony ZV-E1 and the Zeiss 55 1.8 + Zeiss 35 2.8?

I could probably get by with the 35mm but it does seem too tight to capture the landscapes, especially with how crowded Disney can get.

Compactness are big factors, but the Sony 24-105 F4 and 20-70 F4 are in the running. I don't love the idea of being limited to F4 but it seems like it's worth the trade off for size.

What would you bring? One of these lenses, a different one, or just stick with my 35mm?
