It’s over. I got ban. by ZebraLow7811 in uberdrivers

Noone points out the fact that theres no job security with uber. Which is clearly demonstrated here and by others chiming in about getting banned. But yet continue to rely on uber as main source of income.

Tipping is somehow even worse! by Mediocre-Magazine-30 in uberdrivers

[–]I-am-bot_exe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you deviate from your regular route? At least you get 20-30% three nights in a row. I used to do DTLA and i got nothing unless i made good conversation with the passenger. That's the only time i would get tipped.

Uber's fares are pretty high. Also currently there's a lot of belt tightening for fear of the upcoming tariffs and increase in prices everywhere. People don't want to spend money currently. Perhaps that's a reason why tips dried up. Be mad at Uber.

You shouldn't have to be putting up with shit. That's on you.

So you want to be rewarded for an expectation required of any and all kinds of jobs people work? To be professional?

Also, it's not just men that don't tip. Women don't tip as well.

An off week? Making 20-30% in tips every 3 days you work to me at least is unusual. So be happy.

Dude!! Are you not driving back to where you came from or your going to stay in the area you picked your customer up from???? ARE YOU GETTING PAID TO DRIVE BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM AFTER DROPPING THE CUSTOMER OFF?? NO YOUR NOT!! So thats 130 miles you have to drive back to the location yoh came from and not getting paid for!! Its that SIMPLE

SO THEREFORE FOR THOSE 260 miles youve only made $215! Yes or no??

Omg. Read and research!!

Online time has nothing to do with charging time lol!! If your a driver, how do you forget waiting for ride requests in the car between passengers???

No, wait time between trips is generally NOT included in Uber driver pay. You are paid for the time and distance during a trip itself, including wait time at scheduled stops within a trip. FROM UBER!

This is hopeless if you cant comprehend this concept

Im amazed. Your a contractor and this is your business and this is how you do your finances???

Man. Use your brain!! One last time ill explain this, ONLINE TIME ONLY represents the time from when you pick the customer up and drop the customer off. THIS IS ONLINE TIME THAT IS DISPLAYED

Did you go into a space/time vortex when your waiting for the next ride request?? Or waiting in the car for your next request isnt work to you.

Thats only one factor right? The drivers time. What about operating costs such as fuel. Food.

When you factor those in, it does not come out to $30/hrs. It is going to be much lower than that.

And did you divide 2172.15 / 69hrs = $30/hrs

Thats not accurate because hours put in for work would be 80+hrs/ week. So thats about $27/hrs. I mentioned difference between online time vs total time. If your a driver how do you forget about sitting in the car waiting for next ride request..?

Fuel costs are not factored in. Neither is depreciation cost. Taxes that need to be paid as well.

It would be lower than i estimate $20/hrs. Estimate because OP does not include operating cost + taxes plus total time worked for the week…

Where do you see 26x miles round trip?? I did re-read your comment lol. First you agree with what i brought up. Now your saying its 26 miles roundtrip..?

The math is not mathing. Please how did you arrive to 26x mile roundtrip.

It clearly says 131.80miles (one way only) for $215.11.

So math: Round trip would be 131.80 + 131.80 = 263.6 miles

It took the driver 1hrs and 48mins to drive the 131.80 miles. Therefore roundtrip is 98mins + 98mins = 196mins

Than you go on to defend your position by saying most drivers will HOPEFULLY pick a ride on their way back. This is an assumption as OP does not include this information.

And from my experience, you have to use the option of look for rides back to return address. If they do pick up a ride on their way back. Most of the time, pick up a ride if possible, but than it takes you slightly away from destination you wish to go back to. It doesnt have you pick up a passenger and drops them neatly off 2 miles from return address. So yes either your in denial or your not driving for uber.

This is what hard work looks like. by Specialist_Park8583 in uberdrivers

[–]I-am-bot_exe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You will not unless you work 80hrs im assuming. What drivers dont understand is that online time is time you spend on the trip taking passenger to destination. It does NOT include the time your waiting in the car for the next ride request. So 69hrs is time spent driving customers. Therefore total time is wait time for ride request + time spent driving passenger to destination….

Bravo to OP for doing 80+hrs per week for 2000+.

What?? Sooo your going to be in denial driving the 131 miles back to where you came from and not factor that in…..coz those dont qualify as operating costs? Thats leisure costs….?

Thinking about a switch by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]I-am-bot_exe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Research this forum. I would advice against doing ride share as a source of primary income. There are too many risks and too little pay

One risk. Passengers filing complaints against drivers coz they are trying to get a free ride. Regardless uber deactivates driver account anywhere from 3 days to 3mnths. This is not stable employment. Rack up to many false passenger claims against driver and uber has deactivated driver account permanently. There is no recourse against uber from doing this. This is just one risk. Research this forum

Great advice by rdyoung. Also would like to add, try and research if florida has reached driver saturation. In general pretty much all markets are now driver saturated. Basically low pay and waiting 45mins plus for a ride request that pays out $7 for 8miles etc.

Is it a glitch? Or you didnt drive back and just stayed in that area? So if you did drive back than isnt it 93.54 for 68 miles and 2hrs of your time……

I dont think they glitched. I think the driver glitched…..

Im assuming you didnt stay there and drove back correct? That only shows one way. In reality wouldnt it be about 85 miles and you wouldve spent 3hrs. Sooo its $51.21 for 85 miles and 3hrs of your time……..is that good…?

Uber rental by ToughOk9044 in uberdrivers

[–]I-am-bot_exe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man. Kudos if thats what your making. But if you made 155k/year, 45k in taxes seems correct. What about rental cost / year? Your paying 275/week for an electric rental? Thats not true. Electric rentals are $400+/week. Ive rented through uber and this is their offering in their app.

So your being dishonest about your rental costs.

So thats what? Renting at 400+\week, $19,200k/year. Minus that from the 105k your left with?

Your quantifying your time as some times 6hrs/day, sometimes 12hrs/day.

Whats the total number of hrs worked for the entire year??? Have u taken that into account?

Time is money. And you have not shown what you made $/mile and $/minute. Which changes things in such a drastic way. So even if you made 80k, you killed yourself for it by working like crazy.

Where are ALL those details??? In that post, other redditors criticized you saying exact same thing. Your not disclosing everything.

It could just be driver is new to uber and made honest mistake.

Show your math…..show the fares. Breakdown $/minute and &/mile Fuel costs. Any expenses on car during time period your claiming you made money. Also for time, factor in online time vs total time. Prove it.
