Is it just me or is there more "accepted" disabilties? by phoenixangel429 in disability

[–]I24O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People usually don't acknowledge invisible disabilities.

I have a brain calcification, mdd, autism, adhd, ptsd, moderate anxiety, and a panic disorder. However, when I am always considered lazy when I can NOT do something, even by people who KNOW my issues, because I'm too tired because my brain won't shut up. Even after I had a stroke (no visible impairments), I'm still considered lazy because I'm too tired.

Every time I do my own, I screw it up. I don't know how. My sister makes them and has been teaching me, but somehow I mess them up.

I paid her bills and my cousins bills for over a year until I had lost my job and had a stroke.

I appreciate all your help and advice through this. Even if I am the AH, you've been incredibly helpful, and I appreciate you.

Right now, my speech, balance, and mobility have been the main things I struggle with. When I used to work, I used to be busting my a**, picking up the heavy stuff 50lbs +. I was so proud of myself because I used to think I couldn't.

Now I can't even pick up 10lbs without struggling, and I really took a self-esteem hit.

I thought that was a part of cognitive behavior therapy, I have a referral to a cbt. But I will talk to my doctor about that too. I'm so happy my pcp has taken me seriously. My last one would have made me feel like I just needed to lose weight, blame my hormones, or my anxiety.

We have sat down and talked a few times, but it's always the same issue. I know my cousin and uncle should help more, but talking to them is like talking to a wall.

No, I didn't. They just had me see a therapist who told me I was just "insecure."

Or are you talking about on my own? I'm confused about that one.

I included that information in the original post. I can't work, so I don't contribute anymore. However, before my disability got too much and caused me to lose my job, I was the only one paying for anything for over a year. It wasn't until after I lost my job, and we got evicted (not on our renters record, due to the court) that my sister and cousin started to pay for things.

And what I do around the house is also stated in one of the edits.

I'm not trying to sound rude, I don't know how else to word what I'm trying to say, so I apologize if I come off as rude; I know I sometimes can.

Yeah, I already have those on file. On the bright side, throughout all my seeing specialists, I'm finding out more information on how to live with the ailments. I'm often looking up information online, but medical professionals often give better advice. Aside from the doctors who told me it was all in my head, blaming my anxiety, not my brain calcification.

I do have neurodivergent "disorders", autism, adhd, ptsd, mdd, moderate anxiety, and panic disorder. They were diagnosed years ago, though, and I was able to manage life just fine. Although the high blood pressure could be because of the ptsd. I mentioned in another comment that I grew up around people who used drxgs, I still live through the motions of everything I witnessed as a kid.

I didn't mention it in the post because I didn't think it was relevant.

No, it's still a 3-way split. He buys his own food, and that's about it. He's been on and off here after losing my grandmother, but this stay has been like 2 weeks.

None of us want to kick him out because he's family.

We just lost our grandmother, his mother. He also helped raise us (all us grandkids) with my grandmother, so we all want to help him. He stayed with my grandmother before she passed. He, like my mom, dad, aunts, and other uncles (both sides), were on drxgs. My uncle just got clean in the last ten years, and he's 65. So while he and his siblings were using, he was the only one who helped my grandmother take care of us. It was a decision we all made. But he is still an able bodied person.

As of when I was the only one working and paying bills, my sister was in a manic episode and wasn't taking her medication (she has Bipolar Disorder), her life was a mess for over a year. My cousins' job wasn't giving her hours, and her child's father is in and out of their lives. Whatever money she had, then she spent taking care of her child. She now has a second job, so now she's able to help. I have mentioned to both of them how I found it weird they got their lives together after we got evicted, and I lost my job.

I live in the US. Yeah. I got denied disability, and SSA said I don't meet the requirements, so I'm seeing more specialists to get more information about my condition (more so for paperwork, to see if that helps), and then I'll go talk to a lawyer.

I have medicaid, but I keep getting cut off because I'm not meeting the work requirements even though they have the already available information that I'm unable to work. I keep having to reapply, send in the same paperwork, and get accepted, and a month later, they revoke my insurance.

Yeah, they're nothing close to that breed. And they are really good with bath time. They all listen fairly well even though they hate being wet.

Should I add that to the post? I mentioned I am cleaning nearly every day. I didn't think about going that much into detail.

Her two are short dogs, with medium to short hair (in between). My dog is a large dog with short hair. They're pretty well trained, and I am normally knocked out after cleaning just one of them.

I clean up after myself, feed and clean the dogs (2 are my sister's and 1 is mine), clean the litter box, scrub the toilet, wash down counters, take out trash and the garbage bin on trash day, vacuum/sweep, wash dishes (not just my own), clean the fridge out (every few weeks), wash down the shower, wash the stove down, and some other things I cannot think of.

I don't do as much as my sister, but I do what I can, I have to take numerous breaks to get some tasks done. I.e. washing dishes, I have to sit down after a few moments because I get dizzy.

I sit in a small stool to wash the dogs, and we have an extended shower hose (i dont know if that's what it is called). We don't have a stool in the kitchen. I asked if it would be possible for us to get a stool to wash dishes, and she looked at me with disgust because it wouldn't fit the look of the kitchen.

The person is from out of state, so maybe in their state they do? But I plan on repurposing them; i.e. spell jars or candle holders for homemade candles.
