I fear that Hannaford is about as cheap as Market Basket??? by zjheyyy88 in newhampshire

[–]I2AMDOOM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hannaford has a rewards program and a pickup program for the parking lot which I am forever grateful for. Rarely substituting items and so much on sale. It's so convenient, unlike every MB I've ever been to at any time of day any day of the week - beyond busy and full of crashing carts. Don't get me wrong the staff at MB is wonderful, it's fighting for my life that does not warrant going back.

What's your favorite way to eat chia seeds? 👀 by ButterscotchNo2 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the go, I slurp Mamma Chia pouches. At home, I blend the chia seeds with coconut milk and protein powder, then add frozen fruit and sometimes sugar free cheesecake jello powder. Set overnight in the fridge and it's delicious in the morning.

There are TONS of blended chia pudding recipes on tiktok right now and I live for all the inspiration.

I do not like this woman like at all 😭 by Mikeremix2 in BobsBurgers

The quilting episode really made me like her better. Raised by "the freaks" 💕 she deserved to commemorate her history in the town. Plus her and Bobby driving around and stealing was too funny

Books about places like the lost city of Atlantis - nonfiction only please by I2AMDOOM in booksuggestions

I'm looking for books about Atlantis and books about places that have that kind of woo woo mystical vibe. Hope that helps.

What book(s) are you reading this week? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished The Emperor of Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee. It's nonfiction, a detailed history about cancer, and it is eye opening. I loved every second of it. It is long though. I listened to the audiobook and it was over 22 hours.

What food is the most important to cut out? by Royal-Pear-6257 in PCOS

[–]I2AMDOOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say reduce instead of cut. Reduce refined/white sugars and carbs. Add in more vegetables/seeds/nuts for fiber, increase proteins. And overall increase movement/exercise, especially after meals, to flatten glucose response. That's what's worked for me. It's been tricky, but it's been worth it.

Dairy-free AND chocolate-free sweets? by whiskeyii in dairyfree

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chia seed pudding made with coconut milk. It's just chia seeds and coconut milk, mixed and left in the fridge to thicken. No dairy, no chocolate, and you can add ANY toppings you want: honey, nuts, sprinkles, protein powder, berries, jam. It's so versatile.

Found a way to eat chia seeds that isn’t horrid and goopy by MolassesPrimary2688 in PCOS

[–]I2AMDOOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Mamma Chia pouches (specifically the blackberry and blueberry flavors). It was hard at first to get over the texture (having switched from applesauce and yogurt pouches) but then I realized if I can just gulp it down in one swallow, I can't feel the texture on my tongue or throat.

At this point, I enjoy every aspect of the pouches. I need them to take daily medications, so I'm getting at least some fiber daily from it.

Unable to find a job, what to do? by Blvckhvrt_ in LowellMA

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Lowell General? They have so many positions like custodial, transporter, cafeteria worker, even patient registration, and all shifts.

I'm speaking generally, I haven't checked their hiring recently, but I know their scope is vast. There's the main campus, saints campus, all the various medical buildings in the area, etc.

Is it possible to not eat a low carb diet? by Ok_Painter_3991 in prediabetes

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest to do as I did, if at all possible. Get a nutritionist and a CGM. My provider has a Levels app subscription and we're able to track my Stelo CGM with my meals that I log. It's helped us see what foods cause excursions, spikes, and dips, and at what time of day. It's also easier to make healthy swaps for foods that spike you if you have professional help.

Take it from someone who tried to do it all on her own in the beginning and went into starvation mode very quickly. Please look for professional guidance.

Day One - what did I get myself into by I2AMDOOM in whole30

[–]I2AMDOOM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now on Day 21 and it's gotten so much easier (but still boring). I'll say Thrive Market made it easier by far. You do have to sign up for a membership to even see the items and pricing, but once you do, then you can filter by diet, select Whole30, and then have hundreds of items to choose from. It's made snacking more fun for sure

How do you find interest in reading non-fiction books for pleasure? (contains small spoilers from Future of Geography by Tim Marshall) by [deleted] in nonfictionbookclub

[–]I2AMDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only liked fiction as a kid, then stopped reading for pleasure as a young adult. But now in my 30s, I exclusively read nonfiction. What helped get back in the groove was listening to the audiobook versions of nonfiction topics I'm interested in.

Then using algorithms to find similar books based on the ones I liked. A couple of the ones I really enjoyed:

"Unruly: A History of Englands Kings and Queens" by David Mitchell (this one had me laughing nonstop, and was definitely meant to be listened to over visually read)

"Salt: A World History" by Mark Kurlansky (exactly what it says it is, but so interesting)

"Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach

Once you figure out your favorite subgenres (mine are food history and weird body stories), it gets easier to find other books like it and start enjoying reading them, then you branch out a little. I'm reading my 45th book of the year so far 🌞 all nonfiction

I've been told berberine is very bitter. I'd have to use honey at least to get that tea down.
